Pulse Drive vs Arneson ?
Just asking what everone thinks about these two drives. I've picked the Arneson setup on my new Spectre 36' over the Pulse. The pulse looked to bulky and add on. I thought the Arneson was a cleaner look and a more experienced company. Just wondering your thoughts.

Remember that my Pulse Drive looks "bulky" because it is a double shaft/propeller system. In your case it is going to be a single system on each side.
If your engine hatch opens to the sides (split engine hatch) you can actually step into the Pulse Drive to look and work on the rear section of your engines.
The swim platform and the rudder of the Pulse Drive will protect your propeller if you go to shallow or if you hit a marina wall going in reverse.

The pulse looks to be a simple, straitforward design. Anyone in boating has to like that.
My only concern id the tranny. The arneson transfers trust to the transom. The pulse puts the trust on the tranny. These tranny were made to handle that, so that's not the problem.
My question relates to the trimming mechanism design. The pulse looks like it puts the Ujoint on the tranny output flange. This will result in some off center thrust being transferred to the tranny. Most IB tranny are only designed for thrust parallel to the output shaft. For those who have worked in IB boats, prop shaft misallignment results in a similar situation. The result of that is premature output bearing and seal failure in the tranny.
I would just check with the tranny manufacturer would reccomend this type of installation.

99% of all our applications are run with ZF trannys, Hi HP applications we have Huber up grades done to the ZFs
All come with full warranty

Another point is the Horsepower Loss on a # 6 what would be the prop-shaft Horse-power of say a 600 HP engine
560-550 ? thats a big price to pay ..also on those toy bravos that need the water cooling whats that all about?? LOL Oh do you know heat generated by friction is the most costly..That BTW in terms of required energy input.
