Boating on the Ohio River
With all of the rain this year plus the boat wreck - the river just doesn't seem like much fun this year - what do the rest of the river boaters think??

I brought the boat home from Cumberland last night and after seeing the forecast for this week I think I am going to take it back down tomorrow. I was going to keep it home for a few weeks because I dont think I will be back at the Lake till August!

I have been gone for about a week or so, but remember it is only early July, still many weeks of great weather for boating. Just be patient, it will dry out and all will be well again.
I do have to admit though, that the whole hit and run thing has kinda taken away from things. Maybe it is for the better, keep us all on our toes a bit more and remind us that boating can be very dangerous.
I have a blast going out on Wed or Thurs nights for a few hours and hang out....still plenty of time to do so.
Bajaboat....better keep that thing up here!!
LP....I understand where you are coming from man, especially considering I have not been in Cincy and seen the river since Wed. Hang tight, it will come around.
Maybe Brookville or Ceasar's Creek??
Seeeya.

Let's not forget the Ohio River Poker Run July 18- 19, 2003.
Friday leave Watertown 1 pm to Dan's Marine and Belterra Casino
return around 8 pm
Saturday Poker Run with 6 stops (best 5 out of 6 cards)
Huge party Sat. night
Watertown brought in a second dregde last week and there is already plenty of depth in the marina and they are going to continue dregding.
For more info call Bill Beischel 513-310-9720 or got to

The upper side of the Mehdal dam has been very clean for a couple weeks. I think it is a little less busy then downtown. Try it for a change, lots of mom and pop restaurants/bars to try.

Good point on the river poker run - it may not be as big as Cumberland, but it's just as fun - maybe more. The party on both nights is always grand. Maybe it'll start the river boating off!! Anybody been through downtown on the weekend? Especially coming from the goat bar? Any trouble?

LP - you should not forget your roots. Cumberland is at normal pool and water is clear and 80. In addition, with Hawkman down for two weeks you could be king!
Bring it back
