Fountain 35 Lightning - how fast?
 

Hi!

I have got a nice quote on a new Fountain 35 Lightning w/twin Merc 496 HO (425 HP). I have not decided if we will buy it.

I would be very happy if you could tell me how fast this boat should run with:

1. 2 x 425 HP
2. 2 x 580 HP (Procharger, etc)
3. 2 x 625 HP (Prosharger, etc)

Lower units will be upgraded ofcourse.

With the twin 425 it will run around 83-86mph with 580hp 93mph and with 625 probably 95-97. I am assuming this is the new twin step 35 also.;)

I would jump ALL OVER the 35 Fountian that Too Old is offering, and save THOUSANDS, with plenty of money left over to build SERIOUS motors.

I may be off by some??? I was guessing off of Fountain saying the 35 w/ 500efis would run 86, and the 35 with 575 have run arouns 90-93. I have only been in a 35 with 415hp I think we GPS around 81mph ??

According to Fountain website:

2 x 425 = 80 mph +
2 x 470 = 85 mph +
2 x 550 = 92 mph +

Or should I buy a Phantom 34...?

35 footer with 575 with 5blade herrings just back from fountain for a little tweaking on the bottom 103 on the speedo at the factory. just acheap plug, come to the jacksonville firefighters poker run in sept. www.jffpr.com and run with the 35 footer
