Lake Mullet-Michigan
 

Have some friends heading there soon. What kind of lake, hang-outs, anything to pay attention to? Is there a river connection this lake to another one?

Yep! Mullet lake was the final destination on the Northern Michigan Fun Run last weekend. Big lake with Indian river connecting it to several other lakes and a lock to Lake Huron through Cheboygan. Some of the best boating in Michigan!!!

i have a couple pieces of property on the lake. great lake, but no real hot spots or hangouts. hack-ma-tack inn has great food at the mouth of the cheboygan river on the north end of mullett. a few people anchor at the mouth of the river also. most people cruise up and down the rivers ( indian and cheboygan) that's where you meet people.

It's some of the best boating you'll find on an inland lake. Not much in the way hang-outs. Hack-ma-tack is Ok just inside the Cheboygan river, The Breakers bar on the south west corner isn't too bad (Not much other than Burger & fries though). The best place to eat is Hoppies. It's on the Northwest corner of Burt Lake, which connect to Mullet via the Indian River. It's kind of hard to find if you don't know exactly where it is though.
