Why isn't cigarette an option on the poll??? Certainly probably the best brand for finding a good buy and a lot of boats to choose from. For me most are over painted, but there are a lot of nice toned down rigs as well..... and to say you own a cigarette goes along with it!!! Find your brand, then try to match to your budget. My best advise is to get on board the few brands your interested in and get first hand experience before you put out 6 digit price. Spend your money once!!! Most of us spend our money several times, losing more each time.... If your looking at ocean running, go 35' on up... 35 usually is the start of a deeper boat, more interior room and better ride.....

Not to go off topic, but what is it about the carbon layups? which ones & does it also apply to kevlar?

BTW, beautiful Cafe.

My apoligies to the Cigarette owners, but I assumed that a Cigarette would be out of my price range.

You wont get big power & probably will need some upgrades at 60k.......But....If you are at all handy it's well worth it !!!

Okay, since the focus is on cabin space exactly "what" in a cabin are you looking for? Head room is one thing, but there are a lot of boats out there that have stand up disco head room but the v-berth space of a 22 footer.....Just another modest perspective

The Black Thunder is a nice roomy boat, and a nice boat over all. But it cant touch the quality of a Sonic, fact not Fiction. The Sonic has a stronger more solid layup than the BT.

I've never been in another 31', 8'6" performance boat that has a cabin to equal Sonics.
Although if you find a few hundred thousand lying around, the 46EC Black thunder is incredible!

It sounds like I should be looking for a 10 year-old Sonic 31ss in Spring 2004!
