Fender baskets mounted to the underside of the engine hatch?
Just wrap up the lines to keep them out of your engine belts.

Well this gal stores hers under the bench seat. All of my bumpers and ropes fit in there. I keep the anchor in the storage box in the engine compartment.
Word of wisdom though, I store the boat in a storage building, it gets real hot in there, I leave open the engine hatch and the bench seat so the ropes, bumpers and anchor can air dry and do not mildew.

Mine all fit in the side storage compartments (with doors) in the cockpit.

FENDERS??? You guys use fenders? What are the tires on the dock for? :p

Of course the bumper/fender arguement is pretty much assinine if you think about it. Bumpers are on cars, well so are fenders aren't they? Now as for the big white squishy things I hang on the boat to stop the dock from eating the glass, I store those in the engine bay and use a spider bungee to hold them down and away from the headers.

Re: bumper storage??

I like "bumbers" stored in a Bikini top or just plain hagging.

birdog 07-16-2003 02:12 PM

Fender is an OLD Nautical term...As in "To Fend Off" Thr auto ind. kinda borrowed it......

Don't hate me because my father was a stickler for such things..:D

mlitefan 07-16-2003 02:19 PM

hey gary what exactly is a fender/bumper basket?? anywhere online i can see a pic of them??

ok what is the correct name?? and please provide proof with your opinion.

 :p

there is not enough room under my back seat as batteries are under there, and the small storage spot on one side of engine compartment is for anchor life vest and other side is trim and tab pumps.

porta potty spot is home to a sub;)

mxz800 07-16-2003 03:35 PM

Or you can opt for the O/B boat and use the engine compartments were the I/O motors go. My cat has enough storage for everything you could want or need on the water. Tell you the truth I don`t know how I would of managed if I had gone I/O. I have 2 large fenders,2 center hole fenders, 2 anchors, cockpit sunbrella,1 gal O/B oil,6 lines, emergency kit, life preservers, assorted towels with room to spare. Oh and it still does 101

Wildfire 07-16-2003 08:57 PM

You're not supposed to just let 'em hang?

After you go to all the trouble of getting the height just right, it seems a shame to take them off and stow them!

What is this post trying to prove I forgot!

Mounted (2)stainless baskets on back of back seat bulkhead in engine compartment. They accomodate (2) large dia bumpers and provide a place to tie bumper/fender lines to so don't find there way into belts. Easy to remove with just (2)nuts when want more room to stand in front of engines. 3rd bumper/fender gets put where-ever, typ. @entrance to cabin.
