OT: These scam artists think they are slick!!
 

I bid on a sled on ebay and did not win. I received this email a day or two later from a guy wanting to sell me his sleds. I like screwing with them. With this last question I asked I should see if they even know anything about sleds (a ZRT is a triple cylinder).

Read from the bottom up:

I can assure you my friend that I am no maniac. I am a prominent business owner who wants to go snowmobiling this winter.

Where are the sleds located, I noticed your email ends in (.UK). How do you want to complete the transaction. Also is the ZRT a twin cylinder or a single??? Thanks!! I will await your reply. I would like you to call me at 517-202-6611.

I may be stretching the truth....SO!!:eek: :D

I had a guy do this with a ducati i was bidding on through ebay. same kind of deal...he didn't know much about the bike, was over seas, offered free shipping, and couldn't provide me pics, and wrote in broken english.

I also entertained him and told him i would send him the $$. then 2 hours later i emailed him with another one of my email accounts telling him that i wanted the bike (he was the seller that advertised it on ebay), and i told him i would buy it,.... he then proceeded to sell me the bike again. So apparently there was no bike, and he was trying to scam as many people as possible.

I sure hope people are smart enough not to fall for this crap.

Here is the newest email I just received, notice how the model changed:


Dear sir,
The sleds are located in Italy.
I want to make the transaction using an escrow agency WWW.TRADE-SECURE.NET.
The XRT has a twin cylinder.
Sir i have to ask you to be a serious person.
I mean if you want to buy the package let me know and in a week you will have the sleds and i will have the money.
If you don't want the sleds just say.I don't mind.It's business.
I ask you this because i don't want to lose my time.I hope you understand this.

These loosers must make money off of someone. It amazes me that they even took the effort to make a dummy escrow website of trade-secure.

If you look at the site you see:

• A link to a phone number that doesn't contain a number.
• No privacy policy
• The trademark of a privacy company that doesn't list them as a customer.
• If you look behind the scenes you will see that the site was registered in early July of this year but the say they've been doing business since '97

Tell him that the XRT is a very rare machine (only 10 built) and could he double check that model number :).
