Looking for info on living conditions and area.
Looking at a job opportunity here.
What is the cost of living? Median house prices? Apart rental conditions adn price?
best areas of town? and areas of town to stay away from.
I have a 28' boat and have used other storage areas besided own driveway. What is the cost of storage?Is there any good lake close by large enough? or should I sell?
Also what do the locals think the average income is needed for a good living?

angela's parents live there. i didn't see any lakes a 28 footer could run on. cost of living will be mucho cheapo compared to the northern midwest. there are some great areas and suburbs of OKC. not a bad place. i like it better than houston or dallas.

angela always talks about the tornados. i guess you'd just have to get used to them. like living next to the train tracks.

Hugh have you thought about KC? We have Lakes near by. Are you going to make it to LOTO this year?

I live in Tulsa but Oklahoma City is not much different as far as the cost of living goes. You can get new housing from $80 to $100 per square foot, depending on what you want. Gas is about $1.37, state iincome tax is 7%, toll roads to get most anywhere.

There are many good lakes in Oklahoma but most of the good ones are in Eastern Okla. and would be a 2 - 4 hour drive from OK City. University of Oklahoma is just south of OK City in Norman so if you want to have fun wear a Univ of Texas T-Shirt.

Downtown OK CIty is the hot spot for entertainment, the canal district has tons of restaurants and clubs as well as Bricktown Baseball Park and the Ford Center.

its ok ,ilived here all my life. theres a lake 30 minutes away if you like red mud sometimes clear, texoma is very big 2+HRS AWAY theres good areas and bad as in any city. i live in the projects. its ok tyrone is my neighbor and im down wit that. actually live 15miles outside of city. there are plenty storage areas around.
when you coming , you can go to texoma with us laborday. if you would like.

Now, what is a good houly wage?
How would you think $17/hour is? good fair? or not enough. That is more then $5/hour less then what I am at in MN

17 dollars an hour starting out is pretty darn good, the houses are priced in good neighborhoods at any where from 50grand to skys the limit. its not near as busy as some cities but still busy, as tulsa larry said bricktown is the popular place, its crazy rebuild a bunch of vacant run down brick buildings and poof thats where everybody wants to go except for us i dont like big crowded restaurants, if you take the job theres some real nice neighborhoods 2miles, a mall 2miles, and 4 strip joints 3miles, if your married then for get about the clubs.
