Default My boat needs a house.

I need to buy a shelter for my boat. It's a Donzi Criterion, which is 22' 7", but 29' from trailer tongue to prop. I've done a little checking around and it looks like if i get a 10 X 30 X 8 enclosure from Cover-It, it will cost me about $850. Before i make the call, does anyone have a better idea\source?? I'll spend the $850, but I'd much rather spend $500

Thanks all, for any replies.............

Cover-it just put everything on sale, and I think they still have a 10% discount for OSO members, but you would have to do a search on here to find out who to talk to there.

I have a 12x12x36 Cover-It that is a couple years old, and is in GREAT shape.

10-feet sounds a little narrow. You will be much happier if you get one that is 12-feet wide.

12 x 12 x 36 sounds perfect for a 22-foot boat.

I have a cover it shelter that I ordered from http://www.alsdiscount.com/ and got abetter price than from cover it. I will be selling mine as soon as I sell the boat I have. It is 3 years old. Tan in color. Round model with the upgraded material option, screen in rear door and zipper rear door and the roll up door option and I have the anchors which I never used. It does have a small 2" hole in the rear right at where the material lays on the last support. It's 36Lx12wx10tall. The round works good for snow to slide off and handles the wind better, but if you order your own, watch the upper dimentions of the doorway because the round starts at 12' wide on the bottom but narrows up because of the rounding effect so my 8'4" beam just has enough room to spare at the rubber bumper on the sides. I paid like 1700 for mine, I'd give it to you for 500 once my boat goes..... just not sure when that will be... I put the boat in the saltydog nj edition, should be coming out any day now....... Good luck.... As far as the site Al's discount... I had no problems, he was pretty accurate on the delivery date and service was good when a part or something was missing.....

My current one being 12x12x36 is a round top. My boat's beam is 8'6". I would MUCH RATHER have the 14 next time. My storage lot is REALLY packed, and I cannot back in straight. I have to go in at an angle, and curve it in. It is REALLY tight. Go for the 14 width; you will not be disappointed. It makes it much easier to get in and out of the boat, walk beside it, and do work while inside the canopy.

The round top is much better for snow and wind. ALSO, get the kind that has the canvas flapped out, and not wrapped under the trusses, at the base of the structure. It allows wind to blow around the base, and not wear the material.
