My son won Gold in the USCF Jr Regional in '86 on the Velodrome at Cal State Dominguez Hills as a 9 year old.

i waz....my heart hurts looking at a bike now...your right a 54-11 would seem like a the chain was rusted solid now!....ahhh,,,the memories...pain, suffering, crashing...waking up not know where you are vomiting...stuck to the sheets because your bandages soaked through...bruised heart...400 mile weeks.... and one big ass heart on an x-ray....ahh, yes memories

C1 that's REALLY cool!!! i always had a love for the track...i loved racing at night...short and fun! $$ was not too bad either

is he still rid'n?...what a great sport for a kid! discipline and drive is everything!

Joe, sorry to say, but they don't do much bike riding where he is now .... it's a long sad story. I'll tell you about it one day.

Oh yeah, I am old

I didn't mean to dis' track riders. I had my son training on the Encino Velo, but I never tried the track .... very hairy ride with no brakes and no freewheeling

My comment was strictly for the road riders
