Default Man Killed at Lake Havaus Sand Bar

Just got back and could not believe what had happened either way it is bad.

Cause still unkown of fatal fight; Victim, suspect from Sandbar
incident identified
By Mark Hall and Matthew Bunk

Authorities on Monday released the name of a California man accused of beating another man to death Saturday at the Sandbar north of Lake Havasu.
Carlos Navarro, 25, of Grand Terrace, Calif., died at University Medical Center in Las Vegas after receiving head wounds during an alleged altercation with James Robert Parker, 21, of Ontario, Calif. Both men knew each other and had traveled together to Lake Havasu, according to investigators.
Parker was arrested and is being held at the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on a felony manslaughter charge. His bond has been set at $100,000.
Witnesses told officers that “Parker struck Navarro a number of times,” according to a sheriff’s statement.
Jarrod Lyman, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, said Parker and Navarro had been drinking. He did not say what the men fought about.
“Alcohol was involved. The extent of involvement is still unknown at this time,” Lyman said.
Lyman said the suspect submitted to a test that will indicate his level of alcohol intoxication and if and what other may have been in his system.
An autopsy is being conducted on Navarro by the Clark County, Nev., Medical Examiner’s Office. The autopsy is being done in Las Vegas because that is where Navarro died, Lyman said.
Investigators are still trying to find out what caused the alleged altercation between Navarro and Parker, Lyman said. “We’re still taking statements from witnesses,” he added.
Onlookers reported that Navarro was still conscious when rescue personnel arrived. Several rescue boats and a helicopter alerted boaters that something was amiss.
“We just saw all the police boats coming, and we didn’t know what it was at first,” said Kenny Aten, who was at the Sandbar when the incident occurred. “We saw a person laying on his back side on one of the boats. He was bleeding, and it looked like he’d been cut.”

It always surprises me that alcohol is a factor in these kind of incidents....

What a waste of a life...

DOH!!

If they hadn't killed one another, they probably would have killed someone else on the Lake or road. The process of natural selection lives on.........
