Help in Chicago Area!!

HELP!
I'm in a jam and I need to go boating this weekend.
One of my mercruiser sea pumps is trashed in the bearing area. I purchased a complete, new sea pump on ebay last winter, but I went to install it and it doesn’t fit. The OD of the housing (where it slides into the bracket) is .200" larger. I guess the old pump was superseded with this larger OD pump. (saved a machining step?) Apparently, I need to buy a new bracket to make this work. Unfortunately, today is Friday, and overnight delivery isn't gonna help.
So here is my question posed to my Chicago area OSO brothers:
Do anyone have either:
1. An older model sea pump, full assembly or partial. I just need the front, don't Have to have the impeller or body. 2.120" OD mounting area.
2. Later Model mounting bracket with 2.320" mounting ID.
Does anyone have anything that can help me out? If I need to buy some complete assy to get what I need that is fine too. Can you point me towards somebody that might be able to? I really need to get in the water this weekend.
I’m in Chicago’s western suburbs, but I’ll drive just about anywhere.

I am talking about the sea pump (draws in lake/ seawater) not the circulation pump. Not the type with integral fuel pump.

[OSO please don’t move this, I’ll poof this thread on Sunday!!]

Thanks
DS

Get ahold of Grand Sports Center. They should be able to help you out. I'm not sure exactly where they are, but you should be able to do a search and find them. I think it's pretty close to you.

UPS will deliver on Saturday if it is an overnight shipment. But you better hurry. If all else fails. Good luck.

If the housing is not junk then you can go buy the bearings from a bearing house such as Berry Bearing 1-847-956-1414. Take the bearings out, there should be a number on them that can be crossed to other brands.

Try what Too Old said,OR just take a die grinder and open up the bracket.....

If you can find a machine shop the can machine your new housing to the correct OD. You will have to take the impeller housing off.

What about taking the guts out of the new pump nose and putting in the old pump nose. The lathe idea sounds good too. I have a lathe we could do it on but not sure how to chuck it up. It is only a 6" chuck.

Rick, after puling the impeller housing off, grab the impeller end of the shaft in the chuck. Put a bolt through one of the holes in the housing to run against one of the check jaws, that will drive the housing. The pulley end of the shaft should be drilled, use a center in the tailstock to support the pulley end. Take light cuts and you are good to go.
