The 47 OL ROCK IT is or was Bob Russells boat. It is not a GTX. The last time I saw it, it had big power, super clean and very fast. It has Fred Flintstone on the side as part of the graphics scheme.

"Rock-it" is a 42' Outerlimits. Bob Russell sold it last year and now has a 42' Outerlimits GTX, about 3000 horsepower with speeds almost 150 mph. It's named "Can you hear me now?". The new boat will be at our Fun Run tommorow, Saturday, July 26. I will post a couple of pics from my site after the run. Here is a link to some pics of "Can you hear me now?". I hope to get a few better ones.

I think I Saw this boat go by us ( when we were running in F2 ) at Screaming speeds in one of the California races. Beautuiful Rig. Jo

Rocket man is owned by a guy from Philadelphia. He frequently goes to Atlantic CIty NJ. Rock it is another boat.

Wow man that is sweet!!

sean stinson 07-25-2003 07:20 PM

As Joe said at the start of the Pittsburg, CA race Rock It left everyone at the start including the Super Cats....When he came through the part of the course known as New York Slew which is an s-turn he was clocked at 125+ mph......Not bad for a boat with a toilet in it......

OLs are sweet. sy goldberg keeps telling me about how he was in some boat running 100+ at the 1000 island poker run last year when the fiore's ran up next to him, recognized him (he insures most of thier boats) and they punched the throttles and took off like he was standing still (running at 100+) within a few moment they were out of site. God knows how fast they were going. I would assume it was speeds that most "normal" cats don't run.

Truly Badass Rides. Can anyone loan me 400-500k ???

I think 400 or 500K might get you half of this 42' GTX. Bob was giving people rides after our Fun Run. I was too busy to get in line till it was too late. Bob is truly a class act. a sincerely Nice Guy. I'll toss a few pics on this post.

"Rock it" is a 42. "Rocket Man" is a different boat.

I don't want to plug the competition but Rocket Man is a full size 47 w/ twin staggered 1200 Cobras.
Owner is Joe V. , he and his wife are very nice people.

Great Pictures!!
I met Bob and his wife at Fitzgerald's Boat Show in NH back in June--they're both very, very nice!!!
I was extremely lucky and thankful to catch a ride on his boat from a marina back to the show. Let me tell you....with Mike Fiore throttling and Bob driving.....what an experience!!!! We effortlessly topped out at 120mph and didn't even come close to the boat's max speed of 148mph. At 120mph, the boat was extremely stable and solid. It honestly felt like a 37' Stiletto cruising at 75mph....I couldn't believe how well it handled at such high speeds. It's certainly an experience that I'll never forget!!!!

ChrisK 07-28-2003 02:35 PM

I THINK I have seen that boat before in Sarasota, but I am not sure. I believe that Mike Fiore brought it down to run it last year, if that isnt it there was one VERY close to it then.

Imagine...giving people rides after an event...what a great idea to sell boats and PR..wish I had thought of that one
BEAUTIFUL BOATS
==================================>

LOL Jack too many experts was the problem..

Blonde Cig Chick 07-28-2003 05:04 PM

as terry said, rocket man is a different boat. its a 47 with a cabin, has 1200 cobras with orange painted blocks. i believe it was finished sometime last summer?

rock-it was owned by bob russell, with the current owner being on long island, new york. bob then bought the new 42' gtx with "pv-42" on the side. yes, bob had the new boat at the last sarasota run. :)

NW_Jim 07-29-2003 03:02 PM

I couldn't find any pics of Rocket Man. Anyone have any?
