Default Big boat / Small boat ride

Was running alongside a 35 Fountain on the Magothy on Sunday afternoon. Don't know if he had the Fountain trimmed wrong (?) or what, but it was bouncing all over the place and the Formula's deck never even flinched. Waves were only 1-2' with a couple of cruiser wakes here and there. Kind of makes me wonder if I still want to look at a smaller OBCC boat.

Did see a nicely painted OBCC out zooming, looked like probably a 30', that was running nice, fast and smooooth.

So, was it the driver or the boat ?? One of the OBCC's I've seen is based on a 35 Fountain hull so I'd like to know if it would ride smooth in the rough or not.

My guess would be the loose nut behind the wheel, in a 1'-2' chop it should not be all over the place.

Greg,

There were about 13-14 of us over at Dobbin on Saturday all rafted up, 3 of the OBCC guys joined us. You may have seen either Spicy or JM on their way out if it was late afternoon, both great look CC's. There are a bunch of them in the club, and they all seem to ride pretty nice.

As for that Fountain, he probably had it trimmed out too far and was porpoising as a result.

Didn't make it out on Saturday, was running all the weekends errands. I was out about 1:00 on Sunday. Made the loop back by the island but didn't stop in. Just went out for a short hop to get some fresh air (with a few rain sprinkles thrown in for good measure).

The OBCC was playing around making sprints upriver near the condo's on the point outside Ferry Point and Magothy marina's (my "home" bay).

I tend to agree that the Fountain was probably trimmed wrong, sure was surprised how rough a ride he was giving his pasengers.

They certainly won't ride like your wave crusher.
