I think I may have cracked stringers????
I'm thinking I may have a stringer problem. Kchotboat and myself had done some glass work along a strake where we thought the previous owner had put it on some rocks before. There is 3 spots and the are evenly spaced out on the port side. After running on a very rough LOTO this weekend two of the spots have cracked again.
I guess my question is will Insurance cover broken stringers? If I try to put in a claim will I be canceled because of the damage and not insurable and stuck with a broke boat. I have heard rumblings of stringer problems on a model of Chris Craft I have a 210 Scorpion. Is this the problem child? Any info would help, Thanks. |
if you can prove "collision" damage, then the stringers can be covered. Otherwise, I doubt it.
Depends on how you and your agent can spin it. |
Boating at LOTO is like a collision sometimes

maybe it was not fixed correctly the first time. do your homewoirk.then they sold to wellmeaning boater.one girls opinion.

If the previous owner had the collision, then you don't have a claim on your insurance. You may have a claim against the previous owner for concealing or non-disclosure of a defect. But if it could have been detected in a survey and you didn't survey, you are probably out of luck. Talk to the previous owner. Maybe he had the boat repaired at a shop and the shop may cover its work if its not holding up.
Good luck. |
