God bless Bob Hope! He made America laugh. He was very patriotic, loved and supported our military troops. He will be sorely missed.

1992, San Antonio, Fiesta Texas; I was in the Air Force and he came to an Entertain the Troops for the Holidays. It was really a pleasure to have seen him entertain in person.

RIP

Back in the mid/late seventies I stopped at a regional airport on Rt 35 in New Jersey (Monmouth County Airport??). I was standing by a fence admiring a nice looking private jet when Bob Hope and several others came walking out of the terminal/resturant. When they reached the aircraft the pilot asked them to wait a minutes while he performed some checks. Bob Hope spotted me, walked over and struck up a conversation. I was so excited I could barely talk. He had just finished a performance at the Garden State Arts Center and was flying home. We talked about the local area and other things for what I remember close to 15 minutes.
Either way, it was very kind of him to just stop and talk to an admiring fan. Most famous people just wouldn't take the time.

Mr. Hope,
thanks for the memories.

A truly great American. He will be missed.

I often tell someone doing something that they probably can't do "You have two hopes. Bob Hope and no hope". Now we just have no hope.

Truely a major loss for our country and the world. I remember thinking some 20 years ago what a loss that would be when he passed on. It's a great honor that he was with us for so long.

Bob Hope---Thanks for all that you have done!!
