NickSlicks Boat Resurfaces

Yep Its Back....Well sort of, I
received a call from a person
in The Monteray Area in Calif.
Who was looking for info about
a Scarab for sale in Oklahoma.
He said the new owner bought it
from someone in SoCal hauled it
to Oklahome and now was selling it, The more he discribed it I
had to cover the phone from cracking up.
As the guy was telling me about
it all the old Monday morning
Nick Slick reports kept flashing in my head and I could
not hold myself I just busted
up, Then when he told me the name of the Boat "Sinfull Pleasures" I fell on the floor.
He asked how much work I did on
the Boat, I said all I did was
hand tools to a Someone named
"Jon" From out of state, He
wants his phone number JON-JON
OH JON.

:D Small world huh? :D :D

WRedmann 07-29-2003 02:51 PM

when I first joined the board Nick was one of the major post whores on here. I think someone was trying to scam his name or something. I do miss the weekly reports too.

Audiofn 07-29-2003 08:50 PM

Hey Mike J. whats up!!! Did Biggus ever buy that drive off ya? If not let me know I would be interested in it. I will try and get a call out to you tomarrow. I have a bussy day but will try and get a call out to ya to say hi. If this guy wants to give me a call that is fine. Not sure what I can tell him but..... (978) 985-0639 is the cell

Mike J 07-29-2003 09:59 PM

Jon, Got a second call and it
looks like the guy in NoCal
talked to the new owner in
Oklahoma and they are making
a deal.
Guess the new owner hauled it
home and the first time out the port tranny went out.
Yes Biggus has my TRS now...
I told him he was looking at
a world famous Boat.
Im sure I will hear more and
I will pass on your number.
Im getting out of the RaceBoat
World, There have been a few
Good Guys Who I have built
boats for but most are Spoiled
Little Rich Kids.
Mike J.

NICKSLICK 07-31-2003 03:53 PM

wow... would you believe that.

I can honsestly say that I had no idea or reason to think that the boat had ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL. The transmissions never gave me ANY TROUBLE and the boat had been running for for MONTHS.

That boat is a good boat. She just needs somebody to give it alot of love.

I DONT miss the Monday morning slickness reports and i am happy to report that since selling that boat, I have now moved out of the bilge and back into the house with my wife.

i am currently in the market for a new bayliner. :D :D :D :D

Mike J 08-01-2003 11:08 PM

the morning to be returned to Cal
Nick good to hear your still around, The boat is returning to
the Pismo Beach Ca. area.
I have talked to the person buying
the boat and gave him JONS number
He is a gear head so it looks like
the old Girl is in good hands.
Its a funny story how it all came
around.
Hell I got a call from the people
who own the 1st 38ft Wellcraft
Scarab, The one Linda Lovelaces Sister owned.

sean stinson 08-04-2003 07:31 AM

I rememebr the Monday morning reports also....Hell I felt so bad one time that I told him to bring it to me at DSM and told him whatever he needed i would only charge him for actual parts used. I just told him the shop is all yours but we have to be out by 6 am before the indy guys show up. I think we even found most of the stuff used at the shop and I just gave it to him hell it was in our boneyard pile.

Nick ol buddy I couldn't resist hope all is well PM with some digits so we can talk bro....

Mike how ya doing pal? Are you ready for another case of the 3 am what ifs. Holler at me when you have a chance bro.

Audiofn 08-04-2003 07:39 AM

Man that is a damn shame if that boat is that bad of a mess. The wireing was the worst thing that I could say about the boat.

There was that time that Stinson also let us in there to pull the motor tell something like 3am so that I could replace the tail shaft bearing

Lot of funny stories about that boat.

Jon

The Buyer still has the check in
his pocket and is looking for a
28 to 30 Ft. Used Scarab.
I sent him info about OSO and he
is now a member, Im not sure if he
will join this thread.
He wants to look at the photos by
PhantomChaos to see if they are
the same he received.
Sean thanks for the call and I will wait and let you brake the
ne about you NEW deal, And like I
said "I have nothing to do with the 2003 ETTORE BOAT" Couldn't
beleive what I saw on Speedvision
at the Savanahaha race.
Jon I think the (Buyer) will be in
contact with you and tell you how
much damage was done since you and
I were at Nicks Boat last.

I too miss the Slickness Reports! I think Nick certainly helped "shape" the board and we all lived vicariously through his small boating dilemas. Great to see you still puruse the board sir.....
