Need parts stripped of powdercoating
Looking for the a place or the term/name of the process where they dip metal parts and strips all paint and/or powder coating. These parts can't be sand blasted or bead blasted. Thanks for any info.

go to Walmart and get some Dad's Paint Stripper and put it in a squirt bottle and soak all the parts in it. I use it to strip everything and went to my powder coaters the other day and he was using it too! I have never tried it on powder coat but i saw him using it! i know it works great on everything else!!!

Go to Napa or Auto Zone and buy a can of aircraft paint stripper, this stuff is bad azz, and will eat powdercoating right off without harming aluminum or metal;)

I think you'll have your hands full with paint stripper on powder coat . There are companies that can get it off . A friend of mine sends his antique car parts down to north carolina or somewhere . They did the hole body and then the frame and let it sit in it for a couple days . Takes off everything !! I'll try to get a number for you if you need it .

Not sure if all Napa and Autozone carry Aircraft stripper, and if they don't, you local automove paint supply store will carry it. Just be careful when using it. Have water near by in case any splashes on you. You will know if even the most microscopic amount does.
But aircraft remover is your best bet. |
Use PVC primer, it works great!!

We take our parts to American Quality Stripping on Fifth Street in Sandusky, Ohio

Powdercoating is a Baked on Coating
The problem with stripping is the primer, If its something primered with antiSalt Water treatment the local 2 bit stripper will not touch it. If its a cheap job then cheap stripper will work. Mike J. |
