When I was at LOTO for the shootout on saturday we were crusing along about 40mph and I ran into a big ass hole that scared the piss out of everbody. A 24 foot boat is really to small for a big weekend.

I can't imagine that a 24'er is ANYWHERE near big enough. . . .

So where do the LOTO'ers run the triple-digits ? . . .

although it looks really curvy, it really doesn't hinder speed at all... i have run 100+ from the 47MM to the 8MM non-stop...

most people run the big speeds in the 7MM to the 21MM or so... that is where everybody likes to show off because that is where the vast majority of the traffic and restraunts/bars are... (think of the north end of the lake as the 1MM (dam with the river on the other side) and go from there all the way down into the 70's.....)

Are you kidding?????????? It's not a lake!!!! It's a swollen dammed up river with "offshore" boats plowing through the beer-can infested and bug-laden water with cow-eyed lilly-white-skinned missing teeth women on board!!!!!!!!!

This is definately one of the problems. Three weeks ago AmerenUE met with a well known dock builder to advise him that "breakwaters" may no longer be allowed in the near future because they do the same thing as sea walls - redirect the waves. I personally think the biggest problem however has to do with the cruisers as previously stated. I've got a 460 SeaRay and guarantee you that I can create some major rollers if the trim and rpm are set incorrectly. And finally, the sheer volume of boaters on a busy weekend only adds to the problem. As we all know, this "overcrowding" problem will only get worse over time.
