question for too old

while surfing classifieds it led me to this question... HOW MANY FREAKIN BOATS DO YOU OWN????

puder 08-05-2003 11:05 PM

so what is the next project that requires heavy drives and huge tabs???

R Addiction 08-05-2003 11:59 PM

Fred, It looks to me that you have altered the photo. Did this boat have a red and/or lime green stripe on the side? A friend of mine had looked at this boat. Nice setup with the stagger. My friend has a 39 Sutphen with a couple of 800+hp blower motors, No stagger. This boat flys and what a ride...my 11 year old daughter loved it even at 85 mph!!! :D

Good Luck;)

TEAMBAJA 08-06-2003 12:11 AM

It seems like TOO OLD sure gets picked on alot!:D

SinkorSwim 08-06-2003 07:32 AM

AHHHHHH I can't stand it!

Hey Fred how long do I have to sell my 30'?

Will this project take you all winter?

Damn,,, anyone know what the lottery is up to this weekend..

Ahhhhhhhh..

:D ;) :D

Payton 08-06-2003 07:36 AM

Congrats Fred.

IMHO, that boat would be perfect for a set of PSI drives.

OldSchool 08-06-2003 07:38 AM

Congrats Fred,
As a former Sutphen owner, I can attest to the fact that they are awesome , well made boats that will take a HUGE amount of beating without coming apart :D :D
But then again, you will probably never take it off the trailer.

rainmn 08-06-2003 09:01 AM

Congrats on the new purchase Too Old. I've always loved Sutphens.
So what kind of power is it going to get? Any ideas yet?

Smitty 08-06-2003 09:14 AM

They even took off the trim tabs ????

WOW what an awesome looking hull/boat. I have never seen one of those in person.

Hey Fred-- In about two years could you find a nice 38 Top Gun for me ??? I should be ready by then.:D :D :D

RUSSSR1 08-06-2003 09:15 AM

GregP 08-06-2003 11:19 AM

I agree with Payton, dump the Merc stuff and put on some surface drives. It's only 2 little holes to fill in :D

Bill Dahl's black Pantera 28 with Jungle graphics. I'm going to clean her up and go through the rigging. It'll be available for 36k on a trailer.
Cool, do Pantera proud. I hope you will post pictures allong the way. I love those Pantera's, especially that one.

Very cool boat, can't wait to see what you do to it. I would also like to get in line for a chance at this one when it's done!:D

Neverfastenuf 08-06-2003 01:07 PM

Fred, what happend to the engines and drives. I was looking at that boat last year and it had a killer engine and drive set up in it. It is a neat boat. Good luck.

SPITFIRE 08-06-2003 06:09 PM

Congrats Fred, You'll certainly never lose out on that boat. Had a few buddies up in Boston that had, 2 39's, a 30 and a 20. rock solid and fast!!!!Bill

rouxsterre 08-06-2003 06:22 PM

Fred - when you are done with this one, what do anticipate will be the asking price? Are you accepting deposits at this time?
Also, please do not apply any paint/graphics, as I would like to select my own. White/white will be good for now.

Thanks.

cigarette1 08-06-2003 06:32 PM

Fred .... I got the package

You didn't have to FedEx it .... it will probably sit in my pocket for at least a week or two ;)

Thanks

G

sgrady 08-06-2003 09:05 PM

Congrads Fred !!

Hope you get to drive this one !:D

Madcow 08-06-2003 09:07 PM

Good luck with the project. I hope it floats (not that it matters).:D

Formula Outlaw 08-06-2003 09:24 PM

Are you going to paint the rest of the trailer lime green?

JackL 08-07-2003 03:17 PM

Fred
The 28 Pantera looks very interesting. What kind of power is in it ? When will it be ready for sale ? Moving my business to Fla. If things go well for me that would be a great boat to have in Stuart.

Ron P 08-07-2003 04:51 PM

Fred, Call Kurt at 732 477 7400. He's got a pair slightly used 1000 blower motors that Outer 42 had in his 37' Outerlimits. He also has a set of used dry sump #6 drives off his old race boat.

It's worth a call....

36spectre 08-07-2003 08:01 PM

Good idea Ron. I know those motors and they only have about 12 hours on them. Call Kurt Fred(he also built my motors).Otto
