I would say no based on the size, the big top on that boat, and what I estimate the weight to be. I bet it goes about 80-84. Its a sales pitch.
|
I'd bet that tower slows it down 5 MPH even still I doubt it goes 90+ without the tower.
|
You guys have it all wrong! The tower is specially designed as an airfoil - at speed, it generates lift. This lift combined with the step hull invented by Reggie Fountain decreases the wetted surface and allows a higher speed with a given power. ;)

A 1995 42 w/triple 600's idoes 96 so I would think 90 is pretty close.
|
I'll tell ya.....I bought a Reggie go fast kit for my Cig, it consisted of a members only fountain jacket, big gold chain w/ prop medallion, and 2 cans of spray on hair and my boat picked up 7 mph.................

Even the tower has a beak!:D
|
I would agree with the "80-84"

check this out
if you say Hawk real fast it sounds like a fur ball. If thats a Cimino Hawk motor I doubt it.:fish:

I am running 600's in a non step 32 and I haven't hit 90...ever. That 42 is a step bottom boat which gives it maybe 4 mph but the extra weight compared to a 32 I would think more than offsets that. I would be surprised if it ran over 85.
