Default 31-foot to 38-foot boat

Yep, it's me again with another boating poll...

I have my boat "For Sale" because the wife wants (needs) a bigger, smoother ride. On my next boat I would like to be able to deduct the interest on my taxes (as a home), so I will need a "place to sleep", a "place to go to the bathroom (enclosed head)", and a "place to prepare food". I have decided that I can probably afford an older 31-foot to 38-foot boat. I have a $60K budget. I currently have a top speed of over 70mph (on smooth water), so I would like to be able to maintian this speed.

So... Please tell me the make, model, and year of boats that would fit into this catagory.

Thanks!

BTW... I love this forum!

That is going to be tough.....I have been surfing 35-38 foot boats for a while now and you will have to go back a ways to get someting in that price range.

I have not been able to find one that meets all my criteria, most either need updating or have been updated and do not look stock. Few have hydraulic steering so there is 5-10K. A lot of high time or "custom" engines.

Most of the old boats are heavy, great ride but a 38 flat deck cig with 500's is a low 60's boat from what I am told.

The shorter you go the closer to will come to your number, but then you will have some other problems like a smaller head and so on.

I am going to say however a Formula will probably come the closest to what you describe. I am not saying it is the best boat or worst but it seems to me that for that price and list of features it is the closest. Maybe a 311 or a 353?

I've seen some good deals on older 357 Formulas lately.

Default Best Buy

Two boats come to mind, the formula 336, early 90s with bravos and 502s will perform with the best of them ,,, also a scarab III with bravos and large engines, hard to find, but the scarab excell made in 90 and 91 can found for 40-50K these will all give great ride and 65-70 speed with most amenities.
Just an old mans thoughts!!!

There are not any Panteras in the size/price range you're looking for. Just started making 35's last year. Before that the biggest was a 28.
Don't think you'll find a 32 Sunsation at that price either.

As for the rest of them, they're all good boats. Its just gonna depend on what you're looking for and how old you want to go. Gonna be tough to find a boat that big that will run that fast within your budget unless you go 10+ years old.
