Ozarks Shoot Out - Race Course
Anyone that has been there know how long the race course is?
Where they actually measure your speed?
Considering taking a boat but do not want to run it wide open for 2 or 3 miles. Can get it to top speed fairly quick from 80 MPH or so.
Thanks in advance.

Infomaniac,
This year it will be a 50' start box, when you receive a green flag enter box and idle to start line and go. This year you will receive only the one green flag. If you accellerate before the start line they'll black flag you.
Are you building some quad blown monsters?

Also, they are using new Stalker radar equipment this year. It will be a multihead system with receivers on a boom over the course. Should be a much better arrangement than before.
They will take multiple speed readings from different positions as well as the boom.

The top boat in the C1P1
class ( catamaran, 22'-27',
power added(supercharged),
single engine) ran 125 mph last year.
It really looked like they might have
needed a tad more distance to get
them all topped out.
......Ditto on the "lot of fun"

I think the non stock engine for the 22'-27' cat was still over 100! The class really needs to get broken down further. There is a huge difference between a 22' cat and a 27' cat!

I think the real fast ones need a lot more distance, like maybe another mile or more. At 120 you cover a half mile in 15 seconds. 15 seconds is not a lot of time to make an adjustment and monitor the effect to see if yet another adjustment is required.
