Chris craft Scorpion??
Found another one. 1982 Chris Craft Scorpion 39' Twin 454, could not see drives. Owner said "only 11 made he has #9" looked a lot like a Cig.
Any info
Thanks

Does it look a little like this one. I personally like the older Chris Scorpions. They are VERY heavy like most performance boats of that era. The 1982 will most likely have TRS drives. I don't think they put small blocks in the 39, but the smaller scorpions that had them came with Alphas that turned the same direction. . Not fun when coming off a plane fast unless you have lots of room around you.

A friend of mine just bought one of those this summer at a repo lot. I believe it is either a '79 or an '81. It has staggered 454/370s and TRS drives. It is in need of a lot of TLC but, considering that he brought it home for $12,100 including tax and registration I think it is a steal. The only problems he has had are a couple of broken rocker arms. He's running it "as is" this summer and plans to start sprucing it up over the winter.

NW Jim- Yes it looks like that boat except someone did the white out thing on it ,even so far as using white plexi for a windscreen. It has 454s side by side, it seems very slow, he pulled away and it just did not seem to get on plane quickly or move all that well when it finally got there.
I know what you mean about the Alphas spinning the same direction, I have that set up now, It's a handfull sometimes.
Macdad- 12,100 that's not too bad, concidering he'll probably sink about 75-100K into it and sell it for 50K .
Have you ridden in it?

NW the second batch of pics is the boat, although the hatch, and arch, are not there, and the deck rail runs along the center line.
That boat is a great looking boat compared to this one, love the paint and the way the wind screen is set up.( I dig the old school look)

Solid boats, they did have some stringer and transom issues. Check the sides, thump em good a couple feet up from the stern.. check around the fuel tank also, they tend to trap water there.
They do ride real well, but as said, they are heavy
