Dennis Rodman

I have heard he has been terrorizing the west coast out there in his boat. I heard he has had over 70 compliants about him in his boat for noise and other things. They said they impounded his boat now because he parked it a someones dock and would not move it. What a jack...

Finman

eyezlee 08-21-2003 03:49 PM

what kind of boat?

FINMAN 08-21-2003 03:50 PM

they said it was a 42'. I know he used to have a couple of Fountains on Texoma and 1 of them said White Women Only on the back.

rouxsterre 08-21-2003 03:51 PM

Ya gotta love the guy. . . .

Luv-N-It 08-21-2003 03:52 PM

I know at one time he owned a Baja...I think a 342 or 38 Special, however, I reead somewhere he like the performance boat atmosphere because of the ladies, partying, and so on....

I remember at one time seeing a boat for sale he used to own in the boat trader and it was a baja that had, I think, custom graphics as worm?

Funny. Just like Charles Barkely being married to a white woman.

FINMAN 08-21-2003 03:55 PM

I think it was around Catalina that this happened.

Pure Energy 08-21-2003 04:12 PM

I know at one point he had a 38 Cig. During a news interview he was taking the host of the show out for a ride and before they got out of the marina he ran out of gas!!!

He's had quite a few boats around here.......

Pretty sure he still has the 42 Fountain "Sexual Chocolate".

cigarette1 08-21-2003 05:33 PM

It's a 47' Fountain w/ trip HP500 ... Ooops ;) His last incident was about docking at a private marina next to his resturant in Newport Beach. The owners asked him to move .... he didn't .... got towed .... saw him back in the boat the next week.

He's Dman's buddy :D

DonMan 08-21-2003 07:03 PM

He had a boat at Texoma with triples (I think it was a 47 Fountain). The boat was named "Some Like It Hot" and it had pictures of Marilyn Monroe all down each side. I saw it docked at Highport last summer. I think he still owns it.

IDRPSTF 08-21-2003 07:31 PM

The Newport boat is "Sexual Chocolate"
47 Fountain with triple 500's, Race fairing, and Radar arch. He makes a sport out of getting tickets and has been known to point the boat at blow boaters. His antics started out on the funny side but have gotten old and brought bad attention to some of us in the area. I was around to see the aftermath of starting all three engines with the drive all the way out and turn the wheel while in gear. Three new props, three drive rebuilds. And as soon as it was fixed, he went right to the ramp and did it again.
He used to park his boat and go party all weekend and then call DSM to get it. The problem was, he had no clue where he left it. After this happened a few time the guys at DSM figured if he called on Monday, wait until Wednesday and start calling Harbor patrols to find out who impounded it, Then go get it. He always pays!

FeverFan 08-21-2003 10:25 PM

When he played with the Spurs he came to Clear Lake, the boat was "No Autographs." Can't remember what it was.......

I saw it again later at Newport ramp, sitting on a trailer.

Rodman.....

Rodman sold "No Autographs" ('43 Scarab) maybe 3 yrs ago. He did own a Baja also--I think it was a .38 special. Last I know, "No Autographs" was last owned by the owners of Woody's Wharf in Newport, CA. I saw it in Havasu 2 weeks ago, might be a new owner now.

I was hauling boats for DSM when we used to put "Sexual Chocolate" ('47 fountain) in the water in Dana point and run it up to him in Newport---it does run right around 90mph! He used to just run it right into the dock. He really didn't care. I remember one time the boat came back to DSM and the windsheild was broken (before the race fairing) and there was blood all over the inside of the boat. Hmm??? I wonder what happened.

rouxsterre 08-22-2003 12:35 AM

Well . . . maybe 'love' is too strong a word.
BUT. . . record 7 CONSECUTIVE NBA rebounding titles. . . FIVE NBA Championship rings . . . pumping A-List hotties, the likes of which you and I will never know (Madonna - I know, kinda skanky, Carmen Electra, many more), owns his OWN bar in Newport Beach, gazillionaire, killer boats, house is PARTY CENTRAL in a major party town, comped in the major casinos in Las Vegas, couple Hollywood movies, basically gives the big F.U. to ANYBODY that doesn't like it . . . etc., etc.
I wouldn't want him dating my daughter, and he might act like an idiot, but you gotta admit, it's no bad act . . . And - I always hated the guy (Celtics Fan).

GLH 08-22-2003 07:00 AM

He'll be broke in five years, just like Tyson.

I don't think so dude. I don't know the company he has his hand in-made financial investment-but I know its a major 500 fortune company now and he owns a HUGE % of it. Made a stupid investment in it, and it turned out huge rewards for him. Also, he is a major stock holder in several other companies too (don't know them either) but believe me, this guy will end up in jail before he runs out of money.

Semper Fi 08-22-2003 10:10 AM

He also owns a large Excavating Company in Texas, but I don't know the name of it.
I used to not like him either, but someone pointed out to me one day that all his crazy "antics" he normally does gives him alot of media attention and keeps him in the spotlight. Like him or not, he does a good job of it. Last I heard, his bar in Newport was doing really bad.

THRILLSEEKER 08-22-2003 10:26 AM

Maybe he hit a seagull:crazy:

lonestar382 08-22-2003 10:30 AM

The name of the excavating company is Rodman Excavation in Frisco TX. He doesn't own it anymore, and he hasn't for some time. He sold out right before it exploded into a multi-million dollar company had he held onto it, it would probably have gone bankrupt. The man has no financial sense whatsoever, and someday, he will be broke and probably in jail.

Allan4 08-22-2003 10:38 AM

He is an idiot and I don't care for him....but the man is brilliant at self promotion. Yes, b-ball made him a ton of $$, but the self promotion has done a ton for him too.

Love him or hate him....he is bigtime successful......

He's too smart to run outta $$. Tyson is a thug with not brains, but Rodamn has sense.

He and Dieon Sanders are the best self promoters I have ever seen.....

Luvoffshore 08-22-2003 12:36 PM

Hey Lonestar38zx, it's interseting he sold out. I see his trucks around all the time in the DFW area so I guess it is still doing good. As far as his boat on Texoma, that thing is one loud Fountain (I think). It was kept at Loe's Highport and I always admired that boat (until now)! I haven't seen it for well over a year now and the slip (huge apartment overhead) it was at is always empty!

ryoung99 08-22-2003 01:01 PM

Not to jump on the Rodman bandwagon, but he is a good father to his daughter and makes sure she has what she needs.

His ex-wife has a real nice place around the corner from us. She used to date a buddy of mine (after the divorce), he would tell me stories of how Dennis would still take care of both of them.

Maybe a bad boy image, but a softie at heart.

Quest for Speed 08-22-2003 01:13 PM

I thought his bar in Newport Burnt to the ground?

That is one of the companies he still owns, although it may appear he sold out, but I may be wrong, he is a silent partner now. This company donated a lot of time/equipment towards a non-profit organization someplace in Texas for a boys home.

Blonde Cig Chick 08-22-2003 02:24 PM

i'm not claiming to like or dislike the guy but..........

the truth is that he probably does more good that bad, however, the only thing we ever hear about is the bad antics. he is truly a piece of work. he is also my NEIGHBOR! we always hear about his partying, etc. he definitely does some wacky stuff. on another note, 90% of the time, he is actually quiet, polite and very generous to a lot of strangers. You rarely if ever hear him speak, and when he does, you hear a lot of propper english, yes mam, no mam, yes, thank you-no thank you etc. i'd say there are always a lot of people, male and female that hang all over him, beg for rides and his attention and are usually the ones that are unruley.

his former 43' scarab "no autographs" was last owned by a local restaurant owner here in newport.

oh, and that incident of a smashed winshield on the 47 fountain.....i understood last that he had stuffed the boat on a swell off our coast. i don't know who or how bad the injuries were. he was fairly new to the boat at the time.

his resaurant/bar is still packing them in in newport from what i witness on the weekends and can be found there much of the time. it did have a fire, but was repaired and back in operation in a couple of months or so.

i wouldn't want to be hanging by him anywhere close, as i wouldn't want to be assiciated with any of the negative behavior. i just think things are blown up dramatically any chance anyone has. he doesn't help himself much in this area, but the guy never has any peace either.

but what do it know? just my experience living next to the guy.

TxHawk 08-25-2003 09:49 PM

The triple 800SC 47 Fountain " some like it hot" with Marilyn Monroe was not Rodmans neither the apartment above it. That place and boat belongs to Scott Ginsburg, my boats is on this dock. Rodmans boats were kept in Eisenhower Marina. He used to tie up to our dock during parties and make a fool of him self. One night they stacked a beer pyramid next to the boat and he tried over it and feel into the cockpit of his boat.

bikinilover 08-26-2003 06:54 AM

What happened to that boat Marilyn Monroe? I have been there about six times this year and it has been gone.

I believe it went to South Florida to stay at a Ginsburgs condo, dont quote me just lake talk and rumors.

IDRPSTF 08-30-2003 10:18 PM

Dennis proved once again how much of an a$$hole he can be to those around him. Today he could not get a spot to launch his 47 at Newport Dunes. after being "Polite" and helping a few people move there boats, He gave up and took his friends to lunch. A two and a half hour lunch. With his Truck, Trailer and Boat parked in the middle of the entrance to the ramp blocking people coming and going. He basically took a bad situation and made it worse. But Hey, its more attention for the guy.

liquid asset 08-31-2003 05:50 PM

He stilll owns Rodman Excavation, although only a small percentage, He was just the money man, helping the family that helped him when he was in school and had nothing, He has been on jobs that I've worked on, and has a 15,000 sq.ft. party house in Frisco TX, which is where the bussiness is based. There was one incident at Lewisville, where his boat ran over another outside the no wake and mauled a womans face, That boat was never seen again

GLH 11-19-2003 08:06 AM

Good for him if he's getting sober, looks like money woes however.

Update from Ny Post.
November 19, 2003 -- DENNIS Rodman is getting sober. "Next week will be Dennis' one-month anniversary, but we'll take it one day at a time," said The Worm's manager, Darren Prince, of Prince Marketing Group. The former rebounding king has voluntarily been seeing a private counselor. At 42, and probably broke, he still wants to play in the NBA. Rodman was charged Oct. 20 with DWI after he crashed a motorcycle outside a Vegas strip club. The judge might be more lenient on a sober defendant.

jawbreakerkid 11-19-2003 09:51 AM

Jeffrey and I rolled into Josh Slocum's (Rodman's restaurant/club) one night just in time to see Rodman do a body-shot off of a crazy hot woman on the bar. he could have probably taken almost any woman there home with him. we notice Sexual Chocolate half azz tied up in a slip out back. granted, sometimes his actions speak louder than his words, but he did apologize when he bumped into me on the dance floor....not that i really cared......i was occupied at the time.
