Too Old and Cignificant. Last night my head was swimming with ideas for the Victory replacement/upgrade for the K style plane. It branched from a concept that I was working on (in my head) a long time ago. You guys aren't going to believe it, it is SO cool...and of course I'm not going to reveal it just yet! LOL. I need to work on a few more details and of course your ideas and thoughts are welcome. I feed off of this stuff.

Sincerely,

I didnt read all the posts so forgive me if this was covered. I have Bennet single ram tabs and one problem I discovered was that they dont go up far enough. THey can actually keep you from getting full bow lift at maximum trim. I contacted Bennet and found out that they make a replacment spacer that goes in the ram so it will raise further. They sent them to me at no cost. This combined with your tabs may be an even better package.

Mr Demeanor- that's some interesting info from Bennett.

Actually, on the Victory trim tabs I placed the ram/tab mount back further than the stock Bennett position to overcome any water 'clearance' issues. This brings a longer tab out of the water further. If you went with a new 'shorter' spacer in your ram AND the Victory tab it may actually pull flat against the transom :D ;)

But in all seriousness, maybe the combination would be overkill. Thanks for the info.

Here's a bit of history, I thought some of you may find this photo interesting.

This is the original prototype. I had this baby (twins actually) bolted to my transom several seasons ago. It has withstood more punishment than you can imagine, ok, well 'some' of you can imagine:D Kudos to the Bennett rams, couldn't break one in all of the hours of testing. These originals are now going to be bolted to my office wall, along with a few prototypes.

Hey guys...I got my pair of Victory tabs a few weeks ago. Let me tell you...these things are BEEFY. I think I expressed the difference as my previous tabs now looking like "tin foil cookie pans" next to the Victory tabs.

Can't wait to bolt 'em on....with the add'l power now my poor SeaRay is starting to chine.:D

martiniboat 10-27-2003 03:56 PM

Let us know how the SeaRay behaves after the Victory install.

Brian
