So last week, Im going to diner with the girlfriend, was going to take the truck, but didnt have lplates or insurance and dad got mad for me asking...So we pull onto a 4 lane road, accelerate normally (under 1800 the whole time)It was raining pretty good, then about 35mph, as it was going into 4th (OD) the rpms climbed (sp) and I figured I might have hit some deep water a bit to fast, didnt feel like it was hydroplaning, check the speedo, 35ish, tires arent spinning. I still had 1-3, so put it back into Drive and got home, next day tried to take it for a ride, it wont down shift and 4th is neutral :( Oh well, I can still get around with the truck (plates now!) I work with a kid who has a 4.6 Tbird ( I have the 5.0) and asked him if he knew of any junkyards with tbirds in them, he said he found a 5.0 and tranny for 500, I told him I will split it with him, but do i really need a new tranny or is just a small thingh broke in mine?

Ford Sucks, If it were a chevy it would still work,

if you had a chevy that would suck and fords would be the best.. if you had a honda that would suck and toyotas would be great.. so your telling my that chevys never break?????maybe I should get ride of my oputboard and get some chevy motors and as everyone on the board knows that chevy motors will never break.. I had a friend with a ferarri that was the biggest hunk of crap ever to hit the road.. let me let you in on a secret, untill you can afford to go drop 100k on a car it WILL break. and even the 100k cars WILLbreak... ALL CARS BREAK!!! GET USED TO IT;)

buy the trany, sounds like 4th gear has no more teeth.

Got plates-cool. Might want to look at the dipstick while your waiting to get insurance before getting back on a public road.
