Look at the 3rd drive. It has no lower skeg. That has to be the worst use of the English language I've seen.

Why would Fred want a 42' Fountain? He's already got a 39' boat! :D

(that ought to get those beak-niks up in arms!)

YOU SHOULD BUY THIS PROJECT!

Big cabin, low budget.

Jump On IT!

LOL, low budget. :D

mr_velocity 08-26-2003 02:45 PM

I think it's a bit pricey for the condition not having power or drives. Maybe if it were a Cig....

Mrs. dockrocker has determined that the only project in our immediate future will have 4 bedrooms, a kitchen with an island, and be in a good school district. And I have to say I agree with her... besides, Fred's working on my next boat right now! ;)

Thats a rare 42 Fountain...It has the heavy constucted conventional V bottom...9700lbs, They don't make them like that anymore.
Great roughwater project boat.
Remember when Reggie raced his 42 and 47, he spanked all those Cig's and Apache's...Thats the same bottom...no steps and built like a tank.
$32,000 ain't bad for the quality of hull your gettin...just needs some work and you'll have an Offshore Monster.
3 talldeck blower motors and some Bmax drives= 110mph, I'm droolin over this uncut gem.

Some work??? How much $$$ to power a 9700 lb hull and replace/rebuild outdrives? $75-80$K?

Yeah, and don't expect a penny of it back. :D

Back4More 08-26-2003 05:55 PM

Thats if it was a twin engine...add another $40K and don't forget to paint her pretty...another $15K.
At $150K It will be a killer....Its only money.

Missing thoughts of.....

ROT, ROT and a whole lot more Rot in the transom, and stringers, and around fuel tank cabin floor and so on. Lots of mold in the cushions with rooton plywood. And a bunch of corroded wires, gauges. Usually, when the bulkheads get wet they try to expand, even though they are trapped with the hull, and delaminate or crack. It only has to get a little leak ONCE.

BLee 08-27-2003 08:08 AM

It almost seems like it's stolen.
