Dover NH what to do?
Heading out on a business trip Sept. 29 to Dover NH with two other guys. I have never been this far east before and was wondering what there is to do. How far from the river, the coast line, and maybe even Boston. We will be out there for a week and will be looking for something cool to do.

Dover is only about 1/2 hr from Lake Winnipesaukee. Lots of hardware there. Go to Weirs Beach, and hit the Naswa Beach Bar.
Portsmouth is just 20 mins, pretty cool old seaport. Lots of funky bars. If you like Mexican food, hit Poco Diablo. Great margaritas :D Boston is only an hour away from Dover. |
Thank you for the info Biggus. We will have to check it out.

Its about 90 minutes north of Boston.
Nice area, with a sparse population. Lots of hills and mountains. Lake Winni is very nice. Not sure how far this would be but if you have a day to kill, go to Mount Washington and ride the cog railway to the top. http://www.mountwashington.com/cog/index.html |
Bring this to the top as the day gets closer and maybe we can all get together in Boston.

Ok Guys, I finaly got all of our plans together and we are staying in ports mouth. What ever cool bars or places to eat would be great! Not sure what our schedule is like yet. We are going there to recieve some training on a press that our company recently purchased.

Portsmouth has a wide variety of dining establishments and bars...try this link for menus, prices and locations: http://www.portsmouthnh.com/dining/index.cfm
I've heard good things about Anthony Albertos (Italian fine dining), the Library, the Oar House (bistro), Molly Malones (Irish bistro), the Stockpot, and Poco's Bow Street Cantina. The deck at Poco's and the Ferry Landing are right on the water. The Ferry Landing is a great place to grab a drink and indulge on the obligatory lobster and steamers. For bars...try the Portsmouth Brewery--decent food with GREAT beer! The Gas Light next door usually has a band playing on their outdoor patio on Fridays and Saturdays. Also try the Rusty Hammer or the Muddy River Smokehouse. Looking for dancing....try Banana's. |
