Powerboat races were in DC? When was it?

One of my co-workers said that he saw Powerboat racing on the Potomac on the Speed Channel last night. Is this true? When was it?

Can almost see the river from my house and never heard anything about it.

None that I ever heard of. There used to be hydro races in DC way back when but no offshore that I can remember.

Don't forget to mark your calendar for Sept 27-28-Offshore racing comes to Cambridge MD-it is gonna be great.

Is Cambridge where the new Hyatt is located? The one with the killer golf course.

That's the place. I would like to get a scramble type tournement set up for Friday afternoon at around 2pm.

Anyone up for a round of golf?

My Dad used to race outboard boats back in the '50's on the Potomac. I'm not sure, but I kind of remember him saying that the outboards made like 50 HP or something like that:D :D I don't think they have raced on the River in my lifetime.

I think that they used to run unlimited hydros every year back in the '60s and maybe earlier. I believe it was called the President's Cup.
