I am not sure if it is THE "Kaama" Scarab, but Bulldog on the board owns one of Betty Cook's Kaama boats. Run a search for "Bulldog and Kaama" and you should find some info. Also, he has a short thread on the restoration he is doing to it in the Scarab section.

I have the second of 2 38 Larry Smith Scarabs that Betty Cook raced. It was built in 79 and raced as Kaama and Michelob light by Betty Cook, Soxcess and Revenge by Ron Hirshberg.

It has staggered #3 crescent speedmasters with 17.25 x 29 4 blade cleavers, Mercruiser Daytona crashboxes, and 540 tall decks. The engines are on stands and old fuel tanks are out.

I am getting ready to install 4 new saddle tanks. No schedule for completion, but it seems to be getting close. I will e-mail some pictures I have. There is a picture of it in the back cover of the SBI New Orleans race program.
