OT - US Automaker on the right Track

Hats off to Cadillac - at least they're trying.
This sort of thing continues, I could give up my 540i, and buy AMERICAN. . .

CTS-V

XLR

Long articles, but worth it . . .

I saw that at the car show last year. It is fine! But for $76,250, I'd rather have a boat. :D

$76,250 for the XLR - but the CTS-V is upper 40's. . . (I already got the boat). . .

fronteht qaurter views eth XLR looks like a mustang.

my biggest issue with them is the lack of interior finish. The interiors (you luxuary part ofa luxuary car) still kind of blows chunks. And i've never beena a fan of the "chiseled" look. I find there styling to be ornamental at best. Interior wise fit and finish (reguardless of styling) isn't up to task either.

BUT they are getting better. Or perhaps BMW exterior stylign is just getting funkier :( still nobody comes close to eth interior on eth new 7 series. And for convertables the exterior styling on the new sl500 is gorgeous. And i'm not a mercedes fan at all. The damn auto tranny only pisses me off though...

I really disagree with the Mustang analogy. I think the XLR is a much more successful implementation of the 'chiseled' look than the CTS. But hey, they're trying.
At least one American automaker is TRYING. . .

The interior is probably not up to Euro standards, but ->
Motor Trend
The XLR interior is graced with superb leather buckets, handsome eucalyptus-wood insets, and patterned-aluminum accents. Almost every imaginable convenience is standard, including GPS navigation, heated and cooled seats, a voice-activated telephone, a spectacular Bose stereo with additional headrest speakers, and gauges designed in concert with famed Italian jeweler Bulgari.

I do too. One thing for sure, it is a lot nicer than their last 2 seater (Alante).
