Default OT Pave a Driveway

I am about to close on a new house and I need to repave the driveway (make it larger). Anyone have any idea what a good price per foot is to pay?

Jon

Jon-I can't help you much with the costs, but tell me why it needs to be repaved?

Jon when I did it I would get $100.00 a ton to lay it and it takes 1 ton to do a ten by ten square and you need about 2 tons per 10x10 to get the right depth. Black gold is what we called it. James

Cord the driveway is only large enough for my truck so Pam will be parking on the grass (we do not want to look like the hillbillies)

Thanks for the numbers Floridianson

Troutly we really wanted to go concrete but the cost is to high for us now with this house

Jon, I just had a friend replace an 20' x 20' section of my driveway. That is tearing out the old, fill material, wire and replacing with new concrete.
He charged me $3 a square foot. The going rate in my area is $4-5 a square foot for the same. I would call around in your area. You should be able to some ball park quotes over the phone.

Here in Texas concrete driveways go for $2.50 to $2.75 a square foot. Pay for concrete now because that asphalt will not last as long.

Jon, I am in the asphalt/paving business, and if you can afford it I would use concrete As for cost it there are a lot of what ifs, i.e. does the existing drive need completely torn out and replaced or a simple overlay? Is it a new driveway? what kind of base material is on the existing drive? PM me and I can help you more. Let me warn you now, and anyone who reads this, if a guy shows up at your house in a little dump truck with a "dragbox" hanging off the truck offering to do your drive way "real cheap" DONT DO IT! theese guys are usually fly by night outfits that do ****ty work

Jon,

If "crete" is out of the question this year, why not lay some nice crushed stone and consider doing it in crete later? I wanted to do my driveway in "Albany" in crete but had to do asphalt for now. When it needs replacing concrete it will be. Best wishes for many happy years in your new home.

Get lots of quotes. I did mine in concrete, 27 yards, and the quotes ranged from 3300 to 12,000.
