Cumberland!!!!!!

I was wondering if anybody attended cumberland poker run this past weekend? def. the best time i ever had, alot of big and fast boats, seen alot of beautiful boats and alot of women too!!! i know i seen merlin there with the big yellow american offshore, i heard that the fastest and baddest boat there was the montero hartman boat, the big 47' skater with twin 1800 horse cam 2 motors, but i seen him come across the lake once full bore loaded full of people all fancied up with headphones and all but he was gettin his ass handed to him by a 30' spectre, they raced 3 different times that i counted and i couldnt believe that boat was gettin spanked, that spectre was runnin all over the lake but he was always by the dam and when the big boats would come out of the checkpoint he was playin with them all and i never seen him get beat, that boat was fast, and sounded and looked good too, i have to give it to him he was lookin good out there, and oh yeah i seen him race merlin too, that was early in the morning, and he walked all over him, i would like to know who this guy is and what he is runnin, all i know is it was BAD ASS!!!! but all in all it was a sweet place to spend a weekend and im def. lookin forward to next year. but until then..........DRIVE FAST & TAKE CHANCES!!!!

IT was quite an event, I was told that Reggie Fontain was throttling the Montano-Hartman boat, and was hangin out on the dock at Jamestown, the evening party at the falls was a good one too, was anybody else there???

Sonny Spectre 30 09-08-2003 07:16 AM

I was there and had a great time. We were in my 30' Spectre and ran in the 101 MPH + class. It was rough as hell and we had a killer time. I saw that all white Spectre 30 with the motors cut out of the hatch and he was fast-way fast. I'll put some pictures up by tommorro, everybody else post theirs.

I believe that Spectre was Lambr from this board. He has been posting his progress this year on the Spectre page. I did not see it run but I talked to Merlin540 soon after they ran together and he said it was FAST.

Cumberland Rocked.
Weather was perfect.

I do think it sucked that Hartmann led half of the fast class to the card boat and cut the entire incredibly long line for card 3. I'd expect nothing less than that from Randy Hartmann, though.

We were anxious to chew up some of the 130 mph crowd in the snot-water. There's no water on Cumberland that warrants backing off the sticks of a 42 MTI (fountain/scism). All of the boats we wanted to mess with were line-cutters. It was my call to NOT be a line-cutter, but I was second guessing myself after a 40 minute line...

Saw some killer boats. MamaTryed's graphics on the Sunsation were thumbs-up. SonnySpectre30's boat was running really hard - I hope I got some aired-out pix of him (haven't really looked thru them yet). DanO's Sonic was stellar.

We were running a little soft for fear that we'd pop a Bmax. Ended up losing a bearing in one of the lowers, but it didn't affect our running in the poker run (just meant that we had to load after the run and call off any rides we'd promised).

Will post pix and more later.
M

Nice pics man....!!

We were there, but did not run the Poker Run. Figured I'd sit this one out for a change;)

Lots of hardware, as usual...and tons of nice scenery....as usual as well....:D :D

Defyn Gravity's 38 Powerplay is one of the sweetest boats I have seen in person, ever. Great talking with you Robby and thanks for all the great info.

Had a great time, look forward to next year as always. Had a good time @ the falls as well....to say the least!!

Nice talkin with everyone down there. That fast Spectre will probably be at Alum creek and Ceasar's creek this fall for the shootouts. He is one of the Lamb brothers. And yes, Merlin did say that boat was a rocket. I think I saw him at the damn Sat night. We raced a bunch of boats....but I ain't quite the speed demon in a 24 Outlaw....but I try:D :D ;) ;)

See y'all at Alum and Ceasars....great time in Cumberland as always...

Great Shots, especially of the batboat tearing up the rough stuff - that little thing was the 3rd boat back for the lunch run. We all had a blast - thank you to all that helped put on the event.

Luv-N-It 09-08-2003 12:24 PM

Awesome

Can't wait for next. Will do it again next year too. I have never seen so many great boats in one place. Yes, I agree with Allan, Rob's Powerplay was just beautiful. The rigging was the best I saw there.

merlin540 09-08-2003 02:10 PM

HOW FAST?????????

1ST OFF I WOULD LIKE TO SAY IT WAS FUN. LAMBS CAT IS FAST. HE HAS DONE HIS HOMEWORK. ON INDIAN LAKE WHERE THEY ARE FROM YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE DRAG BOAT SET UP TO BE IN THE HUNT. THEY HAVE PROVED THAT IT WILL DO THAT. BUT LETS SEE IT YOU CAN SET THAT BOAT ON LETS SAY 115MPH AND RUN THE WHOLE LAKE LIKE MY AMERICAN OFFSHORE DOES. GOOD JOB TODD I WILL SEE YOU AT THE SHOOTOUT WITH MY 32 SKATER. IT KILO'ED AT 144 IN ST CLAIR AND BUY THE WAY, IT WASNT DONE. SEE YA CHARLIE AMANN:crazy:

LambRB 09-08-2003 03:20 PM

1.26 gears with 15.5 X 36 pitch props at 6200 RPM.
That is all I have to say about my drag boat.

merlin540 09-08-2003 04:29 PM

1.36 GEARS WITH 33 PITCH HYDROS @ 6700 THAT ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT MY OFFSHORE BOAT

Hey Birdog, it was great meeting you this weekend. Next time we'll have to have a couple more beers and talk about how much your going to sell me that Cig in a year or two. Beautiful boat!!! The dog is awesome too!. You got a pic of me in the background on that last post, what did you think of the headsets? We looked like tools eh!

DEFYN GRAVITY 09-08-2003 09:56 PM

Allan, Enjoyed meeting you on Sat. Thanks for the kind words! There was heavy traffic on the dock all weekend long, enjoyed meeting and talking to everyone. Let me know if you need anything, Thanks, Robbie & Chris!

DEFYN GRAVITY 09-08-2003 10:04 PM

Luv-N-It, Thanks for the feedback, It's great to hear from fellow boaters that your hard work did not not go unnoticed, Lake Cumberland Poker Run was the first public event we have been to with the boat and we had some great comments, thanks to all that stopped by, Robbie & Chris

birdog 09-09-2003 06:48 AM

DWH 09-09-2003 11:35 AM

What a great weekend!

Thanks Chris R. for allowing me to drive #12 and for your hospitality. That boat handles the rough stuff better than any I've driven. I'm still looking for some photo's while getting it out of the water so if anybody has some please email them to me.

Larry was relentless behind the throttle and just let us know anytime you need a crew to race.

Charlie, thanks again for the ride to 76 Falls in your rock solid yellow American Offshore. That topped off my day.

To bad we have to wait a whole year to have that many bad ass boats back on Cumberland but I'll be looking forward too it!

Hey I found this one, it's a vid capture, can't tell which one it is, cause it's so far away. Heck lease one for next year and we'll get a lot of pics for ya.

Sea Ya 09-09-2003 04:20 PM

Thanks to Roger, Billy and Brett for another great poker run on Lake Cumberland. Some of the biggest and best tits, I mean hardware in the East. Every year it gets faster. Pardon me, I was reliving Saturday afternoon at 76 Falls.

bob_t 09-10-2003 11:53 AM

I had a really good time at Cumberland, too. My friend and I had the privilege to ride on Birdog's (Paul's) Bullet, Saturday. Awesome ride! One ride I will definitely remember for a very long time. The boat was rock solid and flew well, literally! Paul really knows that boat well. Paul and his "bird-dog" Brandy are exceptional. Thanks again! :D :D

birdog 09-10-2003 12:57 PM

Thanks for the kind words Bob....It was a pleasure having you guys on board....
Running from grider to the Falls was an Experiance !:D :

Brandy says Hey.......

388Hustler 09-10-2003 01:13 PM

Birdog,
I know what you mean. I was following a cruiser up that narrow cove and got passed on each side by a couple of tough guys running about 55mph, one in a Fountain and another in a Velocity. Guess they figured they couldn't do it on the open lake... It's probably a good thing the water patrol didn't see them. I just had to laugh and bring my boat off plane.
