Prayers for Mike Nichols (Black Thunder Boats)
Just received an email from Mike Nichols (Black Thunder Boats) about an accident he had on the way to LOTO during the Labor Day weekend. He and his brother-in-law were pulling his 43 Black Thunder when they had the accident. It totaled the boat and truck! The truck caught on fire with his brother-in-law trapped inside but thankfully, people stopped to help and got him out before he was burned. Mike messed his leg up and had surgery on it last Thursday. However, he developed a blood clot in his right lung after the surgery. His brother-in-law broke his left leg and his knee cap on his right leg. They both will recover 100% but the doctor says they have months of rehab ahead of them! Mike's still in the hospital so I know he would appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers right now! You can also shoot him an email at [email protected].
Thanks! Cat |
That is just awful! We wish Mike and his brother-in-law a speedy recovery.

Best wishes to Mike and his brother in law for a quick and full recovery.
Thoughts of this accident has sent chills down my spine, we just returned from a weekend where we spent 8 hrs round trip towing our 43BT. I am not sure how this situation occurred, but in the short time we have had the boat we have had a few hair raising experiences. There seems to be quite a few drivers out there that just don't know how to react around a truck hauling a large boat. I am not sure if they are gawking or they just get a little nervous but they sure get goofy. With so many of us towing our boats, and the season just starting where many will migrate south, please be extra careful. Mike there are a lot of good people in our OS community pulling for you both. Hello Everyone
Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words. Both my bro in law and myself are out of the hospital and at home. We both have quite a bit of rehab, but we will recover 100%. Looks like I will miss the Lauderdale Boat show, but should be back at the Miami show! Thanks again! Mike Nichols Black Thunder Powerboats |
