Maximus.....I wondered when you would chime in. I knew you would have your two cents to put in. Since you are the National Sales Manager for Spectre now.
The first thing you said was the most important..."everyone has there own opinions". Everyone has there own tastes. There are a lot of boats out there that you wonder why people buy them.
Don't be too quick to say that Spectre's don't peel apart. I am familiar with a few past lawsuits on Spectre's breaking up, transoms cracking and other things that I will not even go into. It happens!
Show me a boat manufacturer that has NEVER had a boat crack or have a gel coat issue.....they are lying, it happens, no matter how good you think you are.
Resale......I am sure the 28 Skater you mentioned is at a lose to someone.....everyone will take some hit on a boat. And the resale numbers can be skewed by people desperate to get out of there boat or greedy with there price. But since you mentioned a hard sale of a Skater...I should mention a Spectre comparison.
There is a local boat, 36 Spectre with 600's, which has been for sale for two years now? Was re-sold and then is for sale again? What's wrong there, why so cheap and it still won't sell? I think it is down to about $140K?There is NO perfect manufacturer, and none can guarantee and type of resale value!
You mentioned 3 Spectre's on order...that is not much too hang your hat on. Get in line at Skater for a 1.5 year wait!
I in no way am saying that either of these boats are the perfect value, bad quality, or one more superior to the other. They are DIFFERENT....the individual buying has to decide what they are looking for and what they personally want to fit there expectations.
Go with 300X's Maximus - better all around and better for resale - buyers of used boats in my experience feel more comfortable with 300's, they last longer before rebuilds and most buyers are aware of that. You aren't keeping it, 300's will be better in the long run for you and resale.
P.S. Thanks for the "silver platter", your a team player.

Ditto Maximus........I was thinking the very same response just could not put it into words like you did. They are both great boats just a lot more boat and superior cockpit layout for a lot less CHA-CHING!!!! You can customize the chit outa this boat with the savings.Spectre put all the best in my boat from Marine Machine to Merc.Racing....Built in coolers to inlayed carpet it will open your eyes to a truly well thought out interior to a superb stepped hull...I did my homework and it`s a true TUNNEL CAT proven through and through.
