Philly fun run this weekend.......

Who's going? This was last year's poker run and was a great time. This time it's cooler(sept.), weather looks good for sat. 76 degrees and partly sunny!:)

We'll be there:D Formula 303sr1

Toolman

C_Spray 09-09-2003 07:54 AM

I was just looking for this thread...

We're in, but will probably just meet up with the fleet at the East end of the C&D canal on the way down. We'll run back up with everyone and spend Saturday night in Philly.

R Addiction 09-09-2003 09:41 AM

Not in the run but I'll probably be at the Chesapeake Inn to check out the action. What time are you arriving at the Inn?

Chuck did you see your article in the Nor'easter? Once a celeb always a celeb!!!;)

C_Spray 09-09-2003 12:03 PM

John,

Haven't seen that issue yet - I was out of town at the Mark Donohue Tribute at Watkins Glen. Come to think of it - I haven't even seen the Powerboat article yet.....

R Addiction 09-09-2003 12:42 PM

Big Mark Donohue fan. Friends with Dave his son. I'll save you a version of the Nor'easter in case you miss it!;)

toolman 09-09-2003 09:33 PM

R Addiction,

The schedule is to leave Philly around 12 noon so I assume we'll be in Chesapeake City around 1pm. Hope to meet up with some of you guys then.

Dave P, How many boats are in this run?

Toolman

R Addiction 09-09-2003 10:16 PM

Thanks Toolman! hopefully see you there!

Straight from DaveP this morning:

The weather for this weekend's fun run on the Delaware has been moving like the stock market! Right now it looks like rain on Friday and about 80 degrees and sunny on Saturday!

As for boats - right now I would estimate we have about 12-15 boats. Even though it is a fun run - the great folks from MONOC will be joining us anyway to enjoy a day of fun in the sun! (yes Chuck Sprague - the Robin the boy wonder will be coming!)

PLEASE REMEMBER - the USCG will be looking for us on the water. Please be courteous and obey all rules of the road.

The gameplan for Saturday:
When: Saturday September 13th
Where: Delaware River
Time: 12 Noon Departure Off of Dave & Busters Marina
Lunch Stop: Chesapeake Inn, Chesapeake City, MD
Dinner: Chart House Philadelphia

Thoughts on the day:
1) NO REGISTRATION FEE - This is a fun run / not a poker run
2) Everyone will be on their own for lunch & dinner (split the bills at the tables)
3) Tentatively meet on the Delaware off of Dave & Busters around 1130am
4) Depart around 12 Noon
5) Arrive at Chesapeake Inn around 1pm
6) Have lunch on the deck (split the bills at the tables)
7) Run back to Philadelphia around 4pm
8) Meet at the Chart House @ 8pm for dinner (split the bills at the tables)

For the sake of trying to keep track of who may attend, please email us @ [email protected] and advise us if you plan on attending lunch or dinner so we can give the restaurants a "heads up" on a head and boat count

Marina Slip Accomodations: Philadelphia Marine Center 215-931-1000

Philadelphia Hotel: Comfort Inn Downtown 100 N Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA
Phone: (215)627-7900 (use EXPEDIA.COM for the best rate - $85.00 night if it is still available)

To the top for "Hauling ass-a" and anyone else who's interested.....

DaveP 09-11-2003 01:39 PM

UGH!

As the weather turns........

Saturday (24 hours): Cloudy, periods of rain. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 60s.

Ok - who has connection with the big man upstairs?

hauling ass-a 09-11-2003 01:43 PM

I will not be able to make because i tuliped a valve last week and the motor is half apart. But my friend shawn has a 388 sling shot called "hustling" wanted the info he will be there. Thank you for finding the thread C-srpay

CAP071 09-11-2003 08:11 PM

Latest is rain all day low to mid 70's chance of high 70's

Any reason why Philly is always last run and so late in the season?

DaveP 09-11-2003 08:41 PM

Last year the run was Aug. 3rd.

The reason we moved it to Sept was because is was stifiling HOT last year and it also conflicted with another event in MD last year.

mopower 09-11-2003 08:50 PM

As well as rain for saturday I also heard windy:(

DaveP 09-11-2003 10:10 PM

I guess we will have to make a judgement call in the A.M.

The weather for the next 5 days BLOWS!

toolman 09-11-2003 10:56 PM

Hey Dave P,

Can we call a rain date for sunday if saturday is a total washout? Same times and places? Use this thread for constant updates?

Just an idea.

Toolman

DaveP 09-12-2003 08:46 AM

The latest weather as of 9:50am

Today Sep 12 Showers 74°/64° 60 %
Sat Sep 13 Scattered T-Storms 75°/69° 70 %

I'm making some calls around the horn right now.

DaveP 09-12-2003 03:32 PM

Unfortunately, it looks like we are pulling the plug on this weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday look like they will be a washout.

It was nice to have summer for the 6 weeks that it was here.

CAP071 09-12-2003 03:37 PM

The Philly run should be in the middle of summer. I would think most people would rather do it in heat and sunshine rather then 70 degrees plus wind from the boat making it a cold ride no matter rain or not unless we get a burts of sunshine later this month

C_Spray 09-13-2003 09:30 AM

Looking out the window (and at the forecast for the next few days...), it looks like a good call, Dave.

Yechh. :(

CAP071 09-13-2003 04:08 PM

I just drove by Dave N Buster's while it was pouring cats n dogs
