People forget about the "hidden" taxes above. I am sick and tired of the constant taxes. I think many have lost sight on what this country was created for. We need to eliminate all elected officials and start over with people who do not make congress their life long career. Just my $.02

You guys beat me to it. (And yes, it gets paid on boats too in NJ.)
I pay for my Driver's license. I pay registration fees for my car, truck, boats, trailer, etc.
When the cars or boats were bought new, sales tax was paid.
WTF is the tax for on a used vehicle??

Funny you should bring this up...wife and I were talking about this very thing last nite. The reason you ask???
Wa state wants to put a 10 cent tax on Starbucks coffee!!!!!!
Every place a dem runs the govt all they can think about is how they can tax you to pay for all there bull$hit social programs. Ive lived in Hawaii, Calif, Wa, all states run by the dems. Look at Ca now. Hawaii is worse and has been for years with there value added tax. You pay tax on Doctor bills, food, lawyers, Architects, Everything!!!! Why? so they can send a check to native Hawaiians every month for not working. Were the hell does that logic come from????
The russians are proof that communisum doest work...when the hell are these politians gonna get the message???? When we all work for free??? so the slimebags druggies can get a welfare check???
Burns my AZZ..thank God I'm gonna retire in a couple of years!!!

Wardey 09-10-2003 05:23 PM

oh yeah.....there's a retirement tax also......:D :D :D Dave

I have a friend from Taiwan we I've kept in touch for many years. We discussed the Taxes here versus there. Once we figured it out we realized that take home salary is about the same but cost of living is higher there.

We used an engineer here at 50k makes about 30k there. After the 50k pays ALL those taxes he actually makes a little less.

Taiwan has socialized medicine (and a good one) low if any land tax. They love to tax the $%^& out of expensive cars though.

TulsaLarry 09-10-2003 07:07 PM

Tulsa just voted yesterday to raise the sales tax 1% (from 8% to 9%). We pay sales tax on everything including groceries and are now the third highest in the country.

SSComp 09-10-2003 08:31 PM

They raised the personal income tax in Akron by 1/4% this year and increased the sales tax by 1%. I'm really ready to move South.

GLH 09-10-2003 09:14 PM

I'm happy here. Canada had three more pages of these taxes.
