I Got My Prop Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A couple of weeks ago I had my prop stolen. Asking for the boards help, I posted a thread with the slim chance that it might turn up a lead. Turn up a lead was an understatement! Board member "robyw1" and later member "Vyper340" both found an ebay auction. http://cgi.aol.ebay.com/ebaymotors/w...tem=2430533366 Anyways, Vyper did a little leg work for me and found that the seller lived close to where the prop was stolen. The police did some more work and found that he had stolen at least 12k in props! 10k in one weekend alone! Some of these have already been sold on ebay. He was working in conjunction with a friend of his who was about to be arrested when I left. Left? Yep, I got to participate in his arrest! I bought the prop off of ebay with the hunch that it was mine. The seller and I agreed on meeting in Oshkosh and we got things set up with the detective. The detective rode in my truck and stood around while I inspected the prop. I had told the cops that I could identify the prop by a small nick that was in the blade. The problem is that the nick had been sanded out by the thief. Luckily the hub was still in the prop and I could tell that the hub was definitely mine! He was proudly arrested, cuffed and read his rights. After about 10 minutes of parking lot interrogation, he was singing like a bird! Admitted to stealing my prop and all the others! Even fingered his friend! Told the cops were to find the props the money, every thing! Whohoo!

btw-IF there is any reward money, I vow to split it between the three of us.

WOO HOO! CONGRATS

SWEET DEAL!!!! Awesome!! Did you get to rough him up a bit?
:D :D 12K in props? Just curious, how many they thought this was. 30-35? |
Excellent :)

Cord, BTW, great feedback you left for the dip**** :), I think he is done with E-Bay for a while :D
|
You're lucky, many other people won't get their stolen property back.
I just bought a prop off E-Bay at an incredible price but when I started reading this topic I got worried. Then I realized the guy I bought mine from is in California. I bought a used once, still in the original box, 21" Laser II for 150.00 (I was the only bidder). It arrived yesterday and its condition was exactly as described.....perfect. No nicks, dents, scratches or blemishes. Can't wait to try it. |
Cord, that is great! Nice work
Nice work Roby and Vyper as well/ |
Hey Cord tell him how you really feal in your feedback :D:D
Glad that you got your prop back and that this guy will get some time to think about what he has done. I hope that all the other people get their props back or at leaste get to have some satisfaction out of this whole mess. Jon |
Way to go Sherlock. The power of OSO strikes again!!!:D :D :D I hope the guy gets a roommate at his new home named "Bubba"
|
Very cool, way to go.
I have also bought a very inexpensive mirage plus 23" off of ebay. There are always good deals on ebay, I hope most of them are legit. Jan |
Glad to hear it Cord!!! Chalk another one up for OSO and all of our connection!

Too bad we can't cut off his hands, then he wouldn't steal any more. Or for you more light hearted souls, maybe just a good public "caning". Outlaw

Cord,
That's awesome news. I'm glad to hear that this worked out for you and that scumbad got his. From the moment that e-bay link was posted I knew a happy ending was close. Kudos to the OSO detectives! :D |
You must have had a BIG 'ole smile on your face while that loser was being arrested :D :D That would have made great video!
robyw1 and Vyper340, way to go :D |
Wonderful News!
Too many times things like this never get taken care of and more and more people get things stolen and nothing is done. Good work OSO!:woohoo: |
KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I cannot tell you how this thread made me feel! We have our own superheroes right here! Julie |
Awesome!
|
OK! one for the good guys!
|
The look on his face: confusion at first then absolute terror when the cuffs ratcheted down. After the finished interrogating him, he got back into his car to secure it. I saw him slip his cigs into his pocket. It wasn't long before he started chain smoking. :D
I was hoping that I could see his friend taken down too. He was working at Walmart at the time and they were going to arrest him at work. That would have been priceless! :D |
You might also want to contact Ebay and close him down completely...
|
They did that this morning. :D
|
Having props stolen and never recovered this is great news
|
Good for you, Cord! Great ending!
|
Cool!!!!
|
way cool.

Good News
Nice job by all involved. |
Great news. In a similar situation, I could never thank enought the employees (OSO Members) that helped us get out of a bad situation with a boat company a few years back.
Also just had the police deliver a pizza to a guy who was using our card number and name to send pizzas to his house. Sweet revenge. |
