thanks a bunch ,
Steve

Thread started about boat buying which is still up and locked.
Members having a mostly polite and adult disagreement in that thread.
Member takes issue and starts a couple of threads obviously directed towards another member.
The other member did not see any humor in them taking the entire scenario into account.
Same member posts a thread directed towards other member taking issue with threads directed at him.
First member deletes posts in original thread and edits the threads he started removing the original content, making the threads and replys to them even more confusing then they originally were.
OSO comes in and does their usual deleting of threads with no explenation.

Just another boring day on OSO....is it all clear now?? :D

I think there is alot of frustration with the guys (including myself) that have been here from the begininning. This site has grown into a monster. Both good and bad.

Aint that the truth:rolleyes:  I haven't been here since the beginning, but IMHO the site isn't what it used to be. Maybe it's gotten, as my mom used to say, too big for it's own britches:) :)

I never thought this would become a drama . I thought you were just bashing chuck for something to do. Ive known Pantera and the family for years, and people always get their boat .Again Im sorry

Fred You are a good stabilizing influence, the Gentleman of OSO ;Now Personally speaking thanks for being a friend.

I can see were you felt like that. With all the bashing that has gone on here its hard not to be defensive. But like I said in the beginning The guys that have been with this site from the start have seen changes both good and bad but are usually neutral when problems happen. But some do have first hand knowledge and dealings with some issues and can be trusted in there opinions.

I have been around this board for a few years now, been through a few screen names. Fred and I have had our disagreements, and I wished him farewell a while back, in not so nice words. Since his return, I have had a newfound respect for him, he is a great asset to this board and from this post, I hope it doesn't mean he has left again..

CAP071 09-15-2003 12:15 PM

People come and people go.

This board is just not what it was, even from when I joined not long ago.

I noticed lately when you say something someone doesn't agree with they jump on you like wild pitbulls.

CigDaze 09-15-2003 12:33 PM

Oh boy...I missed a lot this weekend.

Fred would definately be a big loss to this community.
OSO would be lesser without him.

Roger 1 09-15-2003 12:52 PM

Keep Fred!

SpectreBoy 09-15-2003 12:59 PM

He's ok as long as he keeps sending me those free Chicken Whopper coupons. :D :D :D

Cash Bar 09-15-2003 01:23 PM

I believe all of the above and then some. I have NEVER met or spoken to ANYONE willing to help like Fred.

Greg

Chris288 09-15-2003 01:28 PM

From the statements above, I am gathering Fred left OSO again ??....

BLee 09-15-2003 02:44 PM

He'll be back. The OSO hook was set looong ago. He's just runnin some line out, takin a break.

Sydwayz 09-15-2003 02:53 PM

Too many posts are missing or deleted to know the whole story. I did see a quote aimed at Fred that was TOTALLY inappropriate. That is NOT was OSO was designed for. OSO is supposed to be beneficial and most of all; FORKING FUN! I really hope we see Too Old back soon, as I for sure would miss his input.

I can think of only one other name, Robert Nelems.

Wally 09-15-2003 03:28 PM

I have no idea whats going on but i will say that the first time i met Fred i considered him a class act, stand up kind of guy. I as well as others consider him a friend and an asset to this board.
I have told many members here from this board that i have met through out the years that the only problem with a forum such as this, is that you cant tell the "feelings" of how someone was trying to post something. (Not sure on how that last line came across either myself! :D ) My point is that what someone may write on this board jokeingly someone else may read it all wrong and get the wrong idea. I for one have never taken anything anyone has said to me personaly. And unless i'm face to face with someone and can hear for myself how they are saying it to me i wont take anything seriously! :)

Phknlwyr 09-15-2003 03:31 PM

I remember my first posts which, by their nature, ignited a ****storm. The context was a joke that I deemed inappropriate and I let Risk Taker (the joke starter) known it. As the newbie, I was called very name in the book. As an attorney, I gave it right back (in spades, I believe). Too Old leant his voice of reason to the thread and quickly demonstrated the moderate, knowing wisdom that we have all come to admire and upon which many of us rely. The mandate to Fred in the Pantera thread that began with "shut" and ended with "up" was unwarranted and disrespectful. This Board attracts many different people, all of whom contribute in different ways to the OSO family. I have discovered through reading different posts and threads that you are more often rewarded on OSO for insightful opinions than for colorfully worded attacks on others. I do not now, nor have I ever owned a boat. I aspire to own one soon and hope that people like Fred are available to me on this forum when I need their sage advice. To run him off this Board with unnecessary personal attacks is short-sighted and immature.

Magicfloat 09-15-2003 03:38 PM

Well said,Lawyer guy. I think we will see Too Old back.He won't leave me strung out here as someone also too old, heck,I'm older than him.Everybody has to chill from time to time,I sure do.

Wally.....I dont think this was in a "jokeingly" matter :

I own a Pantera and have had a few problems with them but we were able to work them out, You will get your boat and you will be very happy with it. I talked to Dominic the owner of the mentioned boat and he is a nice guy, all he wants to know is a completion date on his boat, he likes Joe and his family but is getting alittle nerveous because of the money he has commited. Custom made boats always seem to take longer than expected, and as for TOOO Old you should take your geritol and shut the f*&k up, this is an open form. The only thing I will agree with you on is that the owner should post a thread , and bashing unless you have the facts or written goods to share gets you no where

panteraman28 has apoligized twice for his remarks.
we have all said things in the heat of the moment that we regret later. its obvious that panteraman28 does too.

One nice thing about this Forum is that it is easy to get ignited but just as easy to put the fire out. I am sure there are no hard feelings and life with Too Old and P28 will go on. It was a nice ride though.:D I guess the end of the Boating season signals the start of the OSO season.:D

dyno 09-16-2003 05:20 AM

I feel all warm and fuzzy......

MitchStellin 09-16-2003 07:51 AM

Dyno, I think that is your Dog you are feeling:D Need help Winterizing? Just call or PM me, I would love to help. We can pull the drives and all. Let me know if you need a hand with this. No warm fuzzies though:eek: I'm a married man you know.:D And to Too Old, again it was nice to see you come out of your shell...I never seem to have the guts to call someone on the carpet, even though I would never see 1/10th of the Members here I still just keep things on an even keel. (oops, snailboat talk again);)
