I have a lot of experience with that thing .. European connection.

Basically same vehicle as Porsche Cayenne - joint manufacture.

Best engine: The 10 cylinder turbodiesel. That thing is unfriggingbelievable. Amazing torque. The other day, I drove that engine in their Phaeton car. At 250 km/h the computer said: Not faster ... the engine would have done more. 160 mph with a Diesel!

Compared to a full size SUV, it's a bit small. But it compares favorably with similar offereing from BMW and Mercedes. Recommended.

I work at a V.W. dealer and the Toureg is awesome. We also have BMW so I can compare it to a X-5.

The V.W. is the only one I would go off road in. It has true 4 wheel drive capability with a lower gear and height adjustable suspension. It climbs hills very well. I have not buried one in the mud yet, but it could definitely do well if I did. The V-8 is the one to get. As far as the diesel goes it is awesome but won't be here soon, at least in the midwest. The V-8 can tow 7500 lbs.

That V10 is definitely worth waiting for if you love torque.

V8 is 42,000 - 50,000(loaded) Approx.
The leases suck... no residuals.
But the write ups are very impressive.
Here are 2:

Not to hijack the thread, but this morning I saw a mini suv from Chrysler. It looks like they took the Voyager and chopped it. The lines are very simular.

Stormrider:

A steal. In Germany, the lowest price is 42K, going all the way up to 72K for the 10cylinder ...

This IS a very impressive vehicle. Very well appointed also.

I'd really consider getting one, but it doesn't have the third row option.
