19' Scarab Sprint?
Theese look like fun little boats, anyone have any info? the good? the bad? and the ugly?
|
I was looking at these at one time. They look like pretty cool boats to me, never ridden in one though. Some of the graphics don't appeal to me but there are some that are sharp. I think they are a cool boats though, good 1st boat i'd say.

I guess they do 55mph with a 4.3 I wonder what it would do with a 350 mpi?
|
PM Mike J,
He was the designer of them. He sent me a bunch of info about them last spring. Kurt |
I bought one in 97. Dealer said it was a 60mph boat. Could only get 50mph. Added a Place Diverter and tweaked it to 51mph. Complained to the factory and they said it was a 50mph boat. The dealer gave me all my money back toward a 22' scarab. The 19 is a toy.

you don't have an "offshore" racer until you reach around 26+ feet. There are very few boats under that that make any sense even getting if you are planning on rough water.
|
most that I have seen have a 4.3 alpha package, I saw one a few years ago that had a jet drive, the I/O packages are supposed to do 55
top spin, I have a 28 Cig for rough water, this Scarab would be a project, if I bought it |
They are neat little boats and we got one to 55 on the speedo with the 4.3V6. I wouldn't take one in rough water although they do handle those conditions better than a 20' bowrider. 4 small person max.
I'd love to see one with a 500EFI :D Roby |
With mine 58-59 mph on a run with me and a cooler. And with 4 people
I lost 5-6 mph. |
