Latest on missing boater..........
Makes you wonder.........
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Millions of dollars revolve around missing man 10:17 PM CDT on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 By Jeremy Desel / 11 News SEABROOK -- Did he die in an accident or flee the country? New details are emerging in that mystery involving a missing man last seen in Seabrook before his boat hit a barge off Kemah. Millions of dollars are swirling around this case. There was not much left of the boat Living Extra Fast after it crashed into a barge in the ship channel on August 27. But no trace of the boat's owner, Mike Nixon, has ever surfaced. In the wake of the crash there are more questions than answers. But what is sure is that there are millions of dollars in limbo. A lawsuit has already been filed accusing Nixon of reneging on a $4 million line of credit, notifications came just before the boat crash. And there may be other money on the line as well. At least one, possibly two, personal loans of $500,000 each from other businessmen were issued just days before the crash. In addition several creditors required life insurance as a condition of doing business. That total is at least $5 million. So depending on whom you talk to a range of $10 million to $12 million is in contention. Nixon's attorney Scott Williams tells 11 News that there are several outstanding lawsuits that are also in legal limbo. Williams calls them normal business to business suits brought against Nixon or his company Delta Crane. There are five or six suits outstanding and most have been in process for the last year or two. One case that is several years old is slated to go to trail in West Virginia next week but without a defendant. Court records show the Nixon case has been entered into a probate court as is required by law. That happened on September 5. But with only circumstantial evidence of a death and no sign of any body a judge is going to have to decide the status in the case, essentially legally decide whether Mike Nixon is alive or dead. That could happen as soon as next week. |
Definitely an interesting story !!!!

This might sound stupid, but did they find any blood at all in the boat? Surely as torn up as that boat was he didnt eject straight out the top without touching something. Any thoughts on this?

I looked in the boat to try and find blood.... none to be found...... the guy mostlikely jumped. It is believed he has way more than 4 million the crane company is said to be missing 15mil in cranes. Those sold for .50cent on the dollar black market makes him running with about 12 million. He probably has even more. If he were dead they would have found him. The bay where the boat wrecked has been full of boats since the incident.

Isaw this before but because of the accident I did not say anything. But has anyone noticed the guage panel is there but someone took all of the guages. Grave robbers I guess

Definately smells fishy. No pun intended. But there are too many coincidences with the missing money then the missing person. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

I don't know about you guys but with 4 mill. I could dissapear and never be seen again, living a very healthy life.
|
There may not be blood but my guess is, with a guy that size the steering wheel and probably throttles would be pretty twisted up and they appear to be ok.

I say he's in the Caymen Islands drinking Pina Coladas with an umbrella in it!!:D :D

With 4 million, he can move somewhere, buy a fake alias, start working again, invest, or start a new business pretty easily. I have not heard a single bad thing about him, so if he is deceased, RIP. But I personally think, from everything I have read he is still alive. I also bet someone was in on it with him. What, do you think he is going to swim to Mexico? I would think (again, just from reading) He got the boat running the speed it was at, and jumped off, and had another boat (I would think large enough to be somewhat comfortable, I dont think someone will go from a 40 Baja to a tire and float somewhere) pick him up. For all we know he is reading this now!
As for blood, I also think, in an OPEN COCKPIT boat striking another boat, there would be blood, or body parts. Reading Janas article after typing this....Interesting, "flashed a strong spotlight on it as it approached. He said he saw no one on the boat, which was continually" It takes approx 7 days for a body to float up, and I dont think he would tie some weight to his feet to stop that. In the early 1990s he disappeared for a while (once again followed by rumors of a soured business deal), but by 1995 or so he was back. Very interesting....Already has practice. It does not say he faked his death, but still disappearing like that, from how his lifestyle sounds would be a bit hard. "One thing he couldn't ever be was alone," the boater says. "If everyone was too tired on a Sunday and wanted to go home, he'd go with them. He could never go to his apartment and be by himself. And he was never on that boat alone. If he was out at night he'd have a spotlight and someone to hold it, looking for crab nets or obstructions." |
Sounds like he's Living Extra Large now!

The latest news involving this case is that the driver of the boat did survive the crash and is alive and well ... at least alive. Not too sure about the well part since he was arrested nearby and faces numerous charges now. It's a shame that a nice boat was destroyed in the process. Here is a link to the news story about the arrest.
