336SR? Good or Bad????
I've been looking at this for an upgrade next season. Any comments on this? I've got a 25' now, so it would be the next step-up. Handling?, Enough HP? Good rough water hull? Good deal?http://www.southshoredrydock.com/cor...hshoredrydock&

Shop around - seems way to much $$$$ - 10 yr old boat lot better deals out there my .02

I have a friend that has a deal that can beat it. It is a 96 model with 500 H.P.'s, hydraulic steering, gaffrig instrumentation, a new trailer that has only been wet twice, and the boat only has 100 hours on it. he would sell it for 100k. Plus his has much better graphics on it. You might want to at least check this one out before buying that one!!!!!

Ran-Dom, for a 10 year old this is very, very, clean. The last time I knew the price was down 10-12k less. with a trailer. Still out of the ball park for something this size?

336 deal
Very nice looking boat but too much $$$ for the performance and equipment it has. No external hydraulic steering, very mild engines, and more. Great boat but there are lot's in offshoreonly classifieds that are much better deal for the performance and look.

Thanks for the insight.

Formula was always on the top of my list of great boats. However, last week I had to do some work on my buddy's '01 353 Fastec. I had to fish some wires through the side cabnets in the cockpit. I stuck my head in to grab the wires and saw 1 1/2" of stacked washers on the stud for the grab rail. Looking around, every other bolt coming through the interior side had stacks of washers on them. I don't know about anyone else but this kind of crap really get's me. Was the person doing the assembly really too lazy to spin the lock nut all the way down the stud?
 |
that guy should be fired.... you would'nt expect that from Formula.

Chris Craft 240, I have a 94 336 that I will probably be listing in spring, but regardless of what you do or buy if you would like more insight on 336's feel free to give me a call at 414 353 0469.

I have a 311sr1 for sell that is listed on boat trader. the 311 is 33' long and I think it has better lines than the 93's. it's a 1991 and asking 47k.

I agree with Wes311SR1. The 311 is a GREAT boat.

HERE IT IS...

That does seem a little high. There is a 1993 for sale here in Michigan listed for $67,000. It has 502's a triple axle trailer and is a freshwater boat. Has better graphics as well. Much better deal in my opinion.

Check out the "wes311" boat.......VERY clean !!!
I just like the "lines" of the 311-357 's better...... |
We picked up a 95 336 this summer with HP500's and love it. It's not the fastest boat out there, but we're seeing 72-73 (Formula says 74) on GPS. We have spent just about every weekend on it with 2 kids and the room is great. I considered Cafe Racers and Top Guns but I really need a family friendly performance boat, one that can sleep 4 comfortably. I saw that ad when I was looking but like others, didn't care for the graphics. I'd also be wary of the top speed number they give, probably on the speedo and not gps (our 75 mph speedo is buried at 69 gps). The price seems a little high without a trailer, but most we looked at were in that range. Handling is improved over my previous 89 272, the boat seems to be better balanced. We'll be hanging on to ours for quite a while.
