I hope all will pull thru all right.

Mark, Glad you and the family made it through the storm safely. Here, where I live (100 miles inland) took a hard hit also.

RollWithIt 09-20-2003 05:20 AM

The eye passed within 25 miles of Pittsburgh around 8 am on Friday but it was little more than a rain storm at that point. We were lucky. Now 24 hours later, they are calling for the rivers to flood. Been pulling boats out for two days just in case. Good luck to everybody that got hit hard. Glad you are all safe.

OldSchool 09-20-2003 09:11 AM

Mark,
Glad that everyone is OK:) We have been without power for two days now. No trees down in our yard, but four in our neighbors yard that took down the power:( :(
I came in to work to take care of a few things and see what is happnin' on OSO:D :D

Everything in the fridge and freezer have been thrown out but the good news is that there are two 30 packs on ice in the cooler. It's amazing how people in our hood have been helping each other out. Driveway parties are cool:D :D

Be safe,
Craig

Another of Solomons Island.

Place on the right, Stonys, guy just recently bought the place, since about half of the restaurant hangs over the harbor the waves and water pushed through the floor and he is out for many months. :(

Great Pics Mark. My bro in law stayed on his boat all night at Beacon Marina and he's ok. Do you know how Boatel California faired?

All the bay facing docks at North Beach are destroyed. My boat was on it's trailer behind the Chesapeake Bch water park. The surge swamped the whole marina and water came about 8 inches up my hull, but I strapped it to the trailer, so no problems. The marina is still w/o power, so I can't put it on the lift yet. Don't want to boat with all the debris anyway.

Later

Pulling boats out of where?

VelocityMike 09-20-2003 08:44 PM

Coming to you from Annapolis MD we got thru it ok. My boat and jet ski came close to being gone but its ok. The jet ski broke the lines off the lift and floated up the creek with no damage when I found it. The boat was on land blocked. The front came afloat but did not really move at all so I was able to save it.

There are some other people that did not have as much luck. The water go so high across from my marina boats were floating across the road into another parking lot. Also the same people from that marina took the plugs out so need less to say thier boats sunk on land. I will have pics soon. If you want some good pics check out any local paper...

Glad to hear everyone is OK....even you Mike!!!!!;)

Here in Va. Beach, we "JUST" got power. Lots of damage everywhere. News says 90% of the people lost power. I just got phone and power this morning.
Boat should be OK as dry storage place looks fine. There are so many trees down and damage it looks like a war zone in places. Other places look ok. Odd.

Reckless288's house got flooded by the tide, so he may not be posting real soon.

Hopefully I'll have pictures of the ocean during the peak of the storm soon.

My front yard. Two of my trees fell and hit other houses. My neighbor's tree fell across my front yard but didn't hit anything.

The house behind me. They left their house like this - went on a two-week vacation and only left a cell phone number.

Here are some pics of our marina. All the floating docks left their pilings and ended up on land. Any boat left in was severely damaged. I was shocked by the damage but heartened by the cleanup commaradary. Luckily I pulled my boat north to Pennsylvannia.

Very sad for us. This is my son Jesse standing on our main dock. Unfortunately it is up near the bathhouse. :( :( This really puts a cramp in my boating season!   Could have been worse though.
