1 Attachment(s)
All of us have "Stuffed" a boat or two. This is by far the best stuff ever. I salute this Captain. I will be on board this ship Saturday, I will hunt him down, and make him autograph that picture.
Lets all put our hands together and give this crazy man a hand. SVS The worst part is my wife's name is Isabel. I hope she cant do that????? |

I got this direct from Carnival Cruise Lines. I also spoke to the PR department who also said it was real taken during Hurrican Isabel a week ago. I will find the captain and ask him direct. Even so killer shot.
Another Isabel Shot. |

The second photo is NOT Isabel.
|
I'll bet that frugged up a deck chair or two!
|
My only comment is that with the advent of computers and digital photography, I do not believe as much now in photos and videos. This world is becoming a scary place to be sometimes and that is one reason I love boating so much. When I'm on the water, I'm just a little bit further away from all of this craziness !!!:D :D :D

ssmith76,
I'm sorry that we don't believe you, but we don't. Both of those pics look like "photoshop" jobs. I will say that "I believe that you believe it"! :D |
fake...
I work in the oil tanker industry and that photo went around before Isabel.. also note that the ship in the picture is a large tanker (why would carnival have a photo from the bridge of a tanker??)
|
I will find the truth
I will find the captain, tie him up, put nails under his nails, turn on a very hot light, and beat the truth out of him if in fact he drove this vessel into this wave. If I find out he is lying, I will take control of the ship, and do it myself. So There.
Even if it is fake , it still is a cool shot. The weekend begins..... NOW |
Those pictures could be fake or not...
This is the real thing taken from an oil rig in the north sea, of a rescuevessel. http://www.esvagt.dk/5rescue/movomega.html The waves was 20meters high. (65feet) The same date that and oil rig called west gamma flipped over an sunk. Luckily no one was killed and they where rescued by esvagt ships. So this is no bull. I work with several of the guys who was onboard the west gamma. K.J |

While I don't have a picture of it handy but I think I might be able to contend for this one... Returning from deployment during a hurricane back in the early 90's I was in command underway when we stuffed the deck of my aircraft carrier into some pretty hefty waves. The result of the splash even landed solid water on the windows of the bridge witch is at 112' height of eye! Now that's stuffing a seriously large boat!

Yeah Baby!!
SPECTRE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
maximus Bring out the big guns!!!! |
We had a tree service working at our house Sunday. The owner was on the sister ship of that Carnival ship, and was at sea the same time. He said the captains made different decisions on how to get around the storm, and that Carnival ship made the "wrong" decision, underestimating the storm surge. He contends the picture is real.
Not that I believe a tree-service person, but who knows... |
