Default Diesel Fuel Contamination

I NEED ADVICE, I FILLED MY FOUNTAIN UP A FEW WEEKS AGO WITH PREMIUM FUEL , UPON LAUNCHING SHE SMOKED EXCESSIVELY AND WOULD BARELY RUN .I BROUGHT HER BACK TO MY SHOP TO FIND DIESEL FUEL CONTAMINATION!I CONTACTED THE GAS STATION AND THEY ADMITTED TO THE CONTAMINATION AND AGREED TO REIMBURSE ME FOR ANY DAMAGES
WE DRAINED THE FUEL TANK , REPLACED BOTH FUEL FILTERS, CHANGED THE OIL& FILTERS AND REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS.
MY QUESTION IS ...DID I MISS ANYTHING?

"A weekend on the lake!!!!"

be careful...that stuff will snuff out the plugs, and {depending on compression} hydraulic or hammer bearings, knock ring lands off pistons. look at oil pressure and leak it down.

How are you sir?........Harry Clack, Lafayette, LA P2-7

Did you actualy run it or was it just sitting ? IF you ran it under load it could have easily done damage . As Clackster said , hydralock it . If you can't burn it , you can't get it out . so if it's still in the cylinder you can't compress it . You better look into it now and maybe tell the gas station about the potential problem . I hope it is nothing , but it could be something big ! Could bend rods, brake pistons , and mash bearings !

Good luck !

Yes we are. send that gas station a hefty bill on that screw-up. What did you do with the 100-plus gallons of crap you pumped out? ......I'd bring it back to em or better yet....tell em come and get it!

that'll ruin a weekend!

good luck. You running Lauderdale?

The leak down and the compression check were within tolerances. My engine builder wants me to run a couple of hours test time and repeat the tests.
Within about 30 minutes of running the port side motor lost power and started making noise. We pulled the spark plugs to find the electrodes on # 7&5 to be collapsed. We pulled a compression check to find no compression in these cylinders!
We are in the process of removing the engines to see what other damage we have. We were on are way to the race in Ft. Lauderdale.....The only good thing is I have not settled with the transport company on the contaminated fuel. This sucks... Good luck to everyone in Ft. Lauderdale
