Excuse me for being the dumb one here but, What the hell is a boat burning?

The guy who loses the race gets his boat burned! Keeps the insurance companies happy!

Actually, it is a big party on the river. They burn an old dilapidated boat for entertainment. (I guess I better not let them see mine!)

Mile Island shoot,Chuck plans to take his Formula I may go along call me on my cell and we'll raft off.The Marina will be closed for the boat burning. If you get there early enough Buckheads ,Kingfish or on the bank in Ind. would be a good place to watch the race(river closes 10am).You can also watch the race from Waterfront Park .Hope it doesn't rain. US1 and the rest of you guys see you there!

The burning is on a grass lot near the ramp in Admirals Anchor. You will not be able to see the actual boat from water, maybe the flames. Last year and previous yrs, a group of people built boats to burn. This year I hear is supposed to be an actual boat. The marina is all booked up. You can still come by car though. We bought our tickets a couple months ago.

Last yrs boat, a mock paddle boat........
