It's going to be wild. Have fun.

I was listening to the radio this morning, they were advertising this new "Game Day Fresh" Beer deal they have with Bud. Basically, any and all beer sold at RJ will be 'born on' no earlier than 24 hours before the game.

That's kind 'a cool I guess.

I still prefer to bring in "bottled water" and buy cokes to mix with. ;)

:D

Be careful with the bottled water, they don't even allow you to bring it in, and that's precisely the reason. Once when I was, ahem, asked to leave, they were throwing this old man out for bringing his own ice tea. They have a picture of a sign where to come in stating it. The bad part about when I got tossed was the beer was a Heineken that I brought in my sock for a buddy, I hate Heineken. Oh yeah, it was absolutely pouring rain when they booted us out. Redskin game.

florida gator 10-06-2003 07:19 PM

Have fun & Go Bucs!!!!!!

Now I have imagination but soaking a sock in beer is a little too far out..and causes the skin to wrinkle..:D :D

Gee I sure hope you Bucs fans don't spill your coffee as you focus your bloodshot eyes on that number 38 printed next to the horseshoe in the morning paper.

If you missed it you missed NFL history in the making

No it is not a misprint Colts 38 Bucs 35

Ok...What type of call was that at the end of the game? Man, I can't stand the officiating when they do this...The Buc would've won if it wasn't for that f****ed up call at the end. I will admit though it was a great game till the end. I was sitting on the edge of my chair most of the last quarter and def in over time.....

Great, just great....That's all the Redskins need is having to play another team with a bad attitude:rolleyes:   Last week McNabb and now "Chucky":D I have to say that Brad Johnson is one of my favorite players in the league, but I hope that Bruce Smith remembers to take his Geritol this week and gets his azz!!!

cuda 10-07-2003 06:26 AM

Now you see what the "soft cover two" defense will get you. I think putting on a prevent defense takes the fire out of the defenders, then they can't turn it back on when they need to. Also, it didn't take Mr Manning long to figure out where the nickle back was that was playing corner.

97BossHammer 10-07-2003 07:06 AM

man the colts are on fire.

Not likely that the Bucks would have won anyhow. They were TOTALLY inefective at moving the ball on offence in the last quarter and in overtime. The only reason that they got the first down in overtime was that LAME roughing the passer call then they gave it over in downs after that when they were only able to get 4 yards in 4 downs. Tupa did do a great acting job however. Gees wish we could get players like him......Oh ya he used to play with the Pats

gdfatha 10-07-2003 08:57 AM

Question..

If I "leap up" to block the kick and use a team mate as leverage it is a penalty.

BUT..why is it a penalty if I "LEAP UP" without assistance and fall on my team mate??

Allan4 10-07-2003 09:06 AM

Yes...the rule states that if you land on your teammate it is lillegal. You need to jump straight up. Rice did land on his temamate, but I thought it was pretty shaky...but it makes up for that bogus roughing the kicker call...that was junk!!

Man...what a game...and say what you want about prevent D, and you are correct at that, but man...Peyton Manning did nothing wrong in the last 4 mins of that game and OT. Amazing performance...amazing game to watch.

I tell ya...down by 21 with under 4 minutes to go...and keep in mind they did not even have to hurry that alst TD..they had plenty of time !!!! THis against one of the best Defenses in NFL history...what are the odds

WOW...what a ball game, glad I stayed up til 1:15 to catch the end of it. I started to watch it a midnight figureing I would watchthe llast few minutes...hahahah

Wardey 10-07-2003 09:27 AM

.....that was brutal.:( :( :( Dave

Audiofn 10-07-2003 09:27 AM

Allen has the rule correctly. However IMO if a player gets pushed back by the offence like Rices team mate was then I think that should not count. He jumped straite up in the air and came straite back down. The only problem was that his line man was pushed back into him by the offence. Should not have been a foul. Maybe it was pay back for the bogus roughing the kicker call................................

Jon

Wardey 10-07-2003 09:36 AM

I hear the Buc's are having a press conferance at 11:00 to dispute. We'll see what happens. It's not like it will change anything tho. Damn, I didn't get in till 2:30 this am........and my eye's are red.   Dave

The reason the ball was not effectively moved in the last quarter was because almost half of the regualr offense was not on the field...9 team members were hurt last night, one of them being Alstott, even though he was questionable before the game. Pittman was out during the end of the last quarter, and all of over time. So this makes a difference too. The Bucs were using alot of their second string.

If the penalty never had happened, the field goal would've been no good. The bucs could've had their chance to march down the field again, and try their hand at scoring and succedded. They could've won, if it wasn't for the bad call. Rice leaped into the air on his own, never using any player as leverage, and came down barely landing on his own teammate ( to me it looked like his knees touched a player)....yes, the offense pushed his teammates back...which in turn made him land on some one. It was a bad call, no matter how you look at it.

I will agree with every one, it was definitely a nail biting game.....and a very good one at that. My nails are shot..lol.

I'm done talking smack when the Bucs are up by 14 plus points. It always brings bad luck.

Fact remains, Tony Dungee built alot of this team, and this situation was similar to the Bucs vs. Raiders at the Superbowl. When you've coached the opposing team, you have an advantage. Tony's played alot of games at Ray Jay, coached alot of Bucs players, and like someone said earlier, eventually, the Colts caught on to the Bucs game plan, and ended up beating them. Humility is a good thing every once in awhile.

I'm actually surprised that Pittman played, and played so well in the first half. He was in the hospital the day before, getting tanked up on fluids.

I agree with you, Dungee did have an advantage, he knew how most of the defense played...so he could adjust accordingly. It just took them a bit longer to make the adjustments, and when they did, the defense was worn out, so it was easier.

Today, Alstott is out for the rest of the season. They have signed Vinny Ciurciu (LB), resigned Charles Lee ( WR) and signed Justin Smith (LB) from the pratice squad to help replace those who are injured.

I don't buy into that theory. He wouldn't have waited 56 minutes into the game to use such an advantage.

The defense just thought they had already won the game and quit playing, plain and simple. 35 points should hold up every time for our "great" defense!

Still bitter! :(

mcollinstn 10-07-2003 09:35 PM

Johnny Majors, here at UT, was a big believer in the "prevent defense". It lost the Vols more games than I cre to recount.

Wardey 10-08-2003 07:52 AM

We just lost alot of key players in the end. Still no excuse tho. Now, we have lost Allstot for the season. Dave

Audiofn 10-08-2003 08:16 AM

Dude you should have been able to put your mom in there and have kept that lead!!!! Pats have lost every key player that they have for the Defence and they are not playing that bad.

boatfreak 10-08-2003 09:45 AM

I have watched this thread since it started and kept my mouth shut. I do think that there were several bad calls that went both ways but thats the NFL. I am Purdue fan and hate to see Allstot go out.
One last thing GO COLTS!:p
