What would you do?

Would you buy a boat that was severly damaged in an accident and people were killed ?

If it was fixed to a "like-new" condition?

Would you want to know if that happened about a boat you were going to buy?

Does that have to be disclosed to you if you were looking at a boat that was involved in an accident?

Looking for serious answers here guys....

Thanks

I wouldn't... but just because I am severly superstitious:)

I don't think it would bother me to much about someone having died in the boat. As long as it was repaired to like new condition. The extremely good deal on a boat like this should offset any other feelings but then again how could someone have fun in a boat if that was all they thought about when they were in it? I guess in the end if I were getting it a steal I probly would.

I'm very skeptical anytime I hear the phrase "like-new."

I would be hesitant of buying anything that was at one time "severely damaged." I can get past the people dying part, but not the damage. Same with a house.

im pretty sure damage history has to be disclosed to any buyers. i have done some large repairs and made sure the owners knew this in writing. not sure about disclosing loss of life though. i know i would like to know these things and would take it into consideration with the price.

As cold and callous as it sounds, I'd be more concerened with the repairs to the boat than the person killed in it. I know it's sad, but for a deal, I could buy something that someone died in. It's just that if it wasn't fixed right, or shouldn't have been fixed in the first place, then it isn't a deal.

I agree with Too Old. I would like a deal, but how could you forget that.

Check it out just as you would if it was in a wreck and no one got killed!! If it's OK then jump on it!! I would!! But, then again I'm a Funeral Director.

Well if was someone from my small hometown that was killed in it then I would pass on it. Because of the publicity. If I didn't know them and they were from somewhere else then, Heck yea, I'd buy it!!

Like I use to tell everyone that would get freaked out when I lived in our Funeral Home "It's not the dead you need to worry about it's the live one's!!

I don't mind buying a fixer. I prefer it, but would rather buy a boat that crashed and the people survived because the boat was properly built.

CAP071 10-07-2003 03:10 PM

I would have to know exactly what was fixed.

I drive on a road where people are killed almost daily But yet I still travel the road.
